Nartoth	Posted - 2004.07.28 01:43:00 - [61] I got the mission tonight, and took a few Corp mates along to whack the Tempests...no bounty or faction hit. Loot was ok too. Well....ok to me....I'm only in a cruiser, so 1200mm and 1400mm artilleries and a 100nm AB is nice to see ;) Although, 1 of us did end up in an egg.

I can confirm that the Ravens shoot back cuz they actualy podded me and 3 others. I think we had had 2 Megathrons and 6caracals or so. It wasnt easy at all. The Raven spamed cruise missiles like hell. I selected my caracal to orbit at 48 km but it just kept go straight ahead towoards them and didnt wanna turn so soon I was 15 km away from one and they started locking as I alreayd had fired at them. First one i took out in a megathron at about 50 km with 7 * 425mm and torps but they fired like a 100 cruise missiles on me. i was armour tanked but the 3 kept firing on me so i had to run for repairs becouse me 2 armour reps could not repair the damage beating i took on time they just could not keep up. so i went back to base and took me apoc and fitted with radio lensen and tach lasers + smartbomb. when i got there there where a few cruisers podded already. i took out the last raven with little damage at 100 km away (shields where at 60 % when he was dead). when the 3 are there the best thing is to stay about 80 km away then you can easely take em out 1 bye 1 (you best take some friends to help). gedding close like 40 - 50 km is a bad idea if you alone. The second raven was killed bye caracals(8 of them)well done to those brave pilots. the bounty was 750k per piece and one more thing.... they also fire 425 mm rounds at you. don't try this in a cruiser alone is me advice :-)

I was one of the caracals that got podded. Did u get the last raven aswell? cuz when I got back to pick up my loot There was still a Raven there but it didnt target anyone.. Damn I didnt even get a share of the bounty lol. Only a bill to my next incurance company. I was using an apoc with 4 tachs installed (and a bunch of smaller weapons for dealing with frigs for when running missions). They took a lot of pounding to go down (they did shield recharge). They were also hitting me with either projectiles or hybrids (not sure). With 2 medium armour repairers 2's going my armour was dropping but quite slowly. Another point to note was that for me I think that only the ship I fired upon returned fire (again not 100% sure) so they could be taken out one by one with a break in between. Ouch I read above that someone actually got podded - I did not think that NPC's podded ppl anymore since splash damage was removed - or am I mistaken on that??

But whats that? 3 Arch Angel Warlords, very strong battleships, 1M bounty each. I killed the 3 rats with 2 of my corpmates in a gang. The rats fired a lot of Cruise-Miss, but not enough... The hard part is just getting the first of the 3 ravens. The first time I did the mission, no awesome loot, some decent stuff I could sell, but nothing great. The second time, however... 425mm prototype I gauss gun. I am selling if anyone is interested. convo me

I warped in at 60k, managed to get one Raven to separate from the group and then killed him with ease, so, one on one was no problem for me. It's the second group, the ramaining two Ravens that engaged together... I got a bit careless with them, forgot to activate my Accommodation Vestment Reconstructor in time (my other repairer, the Tech II medium one, was working non-stop all that time), forgot to turn Autorepeat off on my rocket launchers with defenders, etc, so the Ravens managed to get into my structure and I had to warp out for repairs. Then I tweaked my setup a bit, swapped the med. repairer for a Mag Field Stab. II, set my large armor rep. to 'autorepeat', went in the second time and killed them both without any problems. I agree, it all depends on the experience, and this was my first time engaging NPC battleships. I've made a few mistakes that could've otherwise cost me my Mega, but in the end learned from them, and when I got that mission again it was much easier - I used blasters. Soloed 6 battleships in all, with no help and am proud of that!
