Not a bad group to be associated with tbh. I think the reason moast people with aspergers are not readily 'social' is that they treat the drivel the majority of the population spew as retorical. |

so you keep company with a man who dared raise the wrath of baby Jesus by saying that his dad was asleep on the job, a man who was famous primarily for writing a song that included "dun dun dun-dun" and a terrorist (Erik Satie)?

Because some people think it a legit tactic to spam these convo invites to lag someone out when in combat, yes it's that easy but I suspect you knew that and were just practicing those trolling skills.

Personally I love talking to people I just killed. Those convo's go one of three ways:
1. I HATE YUO AND WILL GET TEH BIGEST ALLAINC IS GHAYME TO COME KILLS YOU. 2. Holy crap what happened? 3. Tell me how you did that.
Responses follow a time-proven formula:
1. Thankyou for your feedback. Our frequent flier plan is available should you wish to use our services again. Your custom is important to us. 2. I pretty much just decloaked and ganked you. Unlucky. 3. Advice and explanations. Usually on why it's bad to rat in lowsec with a cruiser.
For 2 and 3, I usually enjoy such banter since such pilots are worthy of respect and will probably go on to better things. They may well end up killing me at some point but that's life. Option 1 gets you an immediate post on the corp forums and tickled my funny bone.
Random convo's from people I don't know are rejected automatically, partly because it's usually crap but mostly because I'm paranoid and it's DEFINITELY A SPY GATHERING INTEL in my head. Putting the 'irate' into 'Pirate' |

This is a SOCIAL GAME as far as I know (or maybe im wrong and its all about yellow lasers and red crosses...) It's ok that a dude is shy in real life, but why being so in the computer aswell???
Or do they think Im sending an eve-virus? LOL this is not a msn messenger .exe attached file, but a damn single conversation. Many times im trying to contact haulers, or new miners, or talk about something is happening which can be of his interest. Sigh.
Judging by your attitude and intelligence, I'd guess they just don't want to talk to you. Heck, I don't really feel like talking to you except to tell you why people don't want to talk to you. |

There's nothing more irritating than un-invited convo requests. If you need to say something, Evemail it. Simple.
It's a bit like in real life people that insist on phoning you up for crap that they could just as easily email you for.
Phone requires you to drop what you're doing and give the person your attention immediately - 99% of the time to totally stupid reasons. Email gives the recipient the ability to choose when to read and respond (or to blatantly ignore).
The same applies to in-game convo invites.

When a convo is initiated, you get a pop-up "would you like to do this or that" window. This pop-up STILL to some degree lag out at least my PC. So I autoreject on principle.
Another reason is that being a girl in an internet spaceship game leads to some... strange convos.
Q: "I like the look of your character, would you like to get to know me?" A: "No"
Q: "So, you are a girl playing Eve, who is your BF?" A: "I actually play because I like the game, now gtfo of my life and let me shoot people!!!"
Q: "Just because we are red to each other does not mean that..." A: "Yes, it does mean I am not interested in chatting with you."
Yeah.... I can be a bit antisocial towards strangers. If you are not a friend of mine - don't convo me.

I have never rejected a conversation before - now I will, I've just had someone talk to me asking about "investing in eve" and whether I've invested in RL and what do I do for a job, and what my name is and how old i am, and where I live.
I will from now on decline every convo - because I'm scared s**tless of freaky convos like that.
Lucky people who get BUY ISK!1111 requests - at least they don't have to tell others their credentials.

There is actually a warning given about accepting conversation invites from people you don't know. And it is related to a hack attempt.

Who ever said you HAVE to give anyone your personal details over the internet?
Online retailer? Buy it offline or accept that you may not be able to procure it otherwise.
Site that needs you to enter personal information? Enter fake info. It's rejecting the fake info? Maybe it's not worth registering after all.
Someone's claiming in the pvt convo that they're a GM and that their databases are being funny and they need you to give them your password so they can update it on the database to make sure your account doesn't get locked by accident?
Likely story. About as likely as any one of the girls I know telling me that she needs me to do something to her that cannot be done with the aid of a similarly shaped object, and that no other guy would be able to help her with her problem. (altho in this case I think I might be willing to give in to the potential of having my personal details violated <.<) |
