This is a total nerf to piracy, now I gota go system by system, repair, recharge cap, every time I go threw a damn system man, Including a greater RISK in jumping into a system, what if i crash, node drops, im near a gate, I dont jump, I cant repair or activate anything cause i crashed after i jumped.
There is no point but a annoyance and a muscle out all the small time pirates such as cruisers/frigates and so on.
.4 and lower is semi secure space, how does these robot sentries know what I do in a belt?
If you want to have them, make it so it only effects 1 system. Not EVERY SYSTEM FOR 15 minutes. I feel like going threw .5+ space now in the past when cops werent GOD.
REMOVE IT NOW.

The Sentry Guns will already fire on people that commit acts of aggression around the guns. And people that commit acts of aggression away from the sentry guns already get a security hit. Not to mention concord in 0.5-1.0 systems.
If someone wants to tank the Sentry Guns in 0.1-0.4.. They become criminally flagged, and this allows other players the ability to fight back against 0.4 gate-campers.
All this Sentry Gun thing does is pick off the criminally flagged players before other players have a chance to pick them off.
Maybe just make 0.9-1.0 Security System guns shoot criminally flagged players.. But leave the sentry guns in 0.1 through 0.8 the way they were before.

This is retarded. Not only can I not defend myself because i'm past -5. Sentrys now shoot me all over, which is retarded.
Great way to nerf piracy, especially because once you have chosen that path is rediculous to try and fix your sec.
CCP is not thinking of its customers, they just want to see how it aggrivates them.

These wings will be like mid range npc frigates that can warp scramble and webbify a target. This will mean any form of station camping in this sec system will require good organisation and also means the attackers are at risk of being jumped by anti pirate players while being warp scrmabled by the frigate wings.
0.5 - Same as above again but this time a wing of concord warps in anywhere where an aggressive act has been commited. For each criminally flagged player a wing is generated. The strength of the wing is based on the ship the player is in, for example, a PC rat in a frigate/interceptors would be attacked by a small wing of concord frigates or interceptors, a cruiser would mean a larger group of frigates, a battlship would mean a wing of cruisers and frigates etc.
0.6 - Same as above again but this time the concord wing is stronger than before for each ship class.
0.7 - Same yet again but this time sentry guns have an effective range of 100kms and are much more damamging.
0.8 - Very powerful concord response, sentries remain the same but this time the number is upped to 8 per gate.
0.9 and 1.0 - Sentry gun ranges are at 150kms and leathel even to battleships. Concord is not subtle and will send in a full fleet regardless of size or strength. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Well thats my idea anyway, maybe could do with some balance but it makes piracy and anti piracy possible without crippling either profession, I think.
Id probally tone down the .4 sectors punishment a bit but overall this sounded good to me. Criticisms welcome, flame will be ignored. ---

Sentry guns protect the citizens of the empires. So, they shoot at naughty people. What is so strange about that?
The only thing I find strange is why CCP allow so many pirates to be in empire compared to non-empire (because it doesn't makes sense from a subscription point of view -- I have nothing against piracy but the current situation is not financially helpful to CCP). I suspect this change is just the first "hint" for the pirates to move out. ------------- You have to go out of your mind from time to time to stay sane. |

I agree I think that needs to be toned downed close to the .3 type of defense but overall you have to admit that helps pirates get into the lower sec systems if they try. and lets the empire space travelers have a measure of saftey. It works out much better then haveing uber turrets all round. ---

well i always thought the guns were there to protect the structure not fire on ppl for fun and also what do you think would cause more loss for ccp alot of the pirates population quiting or the odd person who over reacts about dieing
