Edited by: Reiisha on 20/01/2009 00:47:20 Representing Dawn of Transcendence, a proud alliance of station huggers. We will definately prove that you do need practice to win this :>
Seriously though, we're mostly solo'ers really. We don't own any space, and we don't live anywhere in particular. The alliance is, at the moment, mostly for convenience and to bring friends together, and we simply decided to have a go at the tournament. |

We are Divine 0rder alliance, the alt alliance of Divine Retribution corp who go back to the start of Eve. Those who have fought us will know who we are..
Achievements include being the first to wardec Privateer alliance and win back in their prime. We also reached the last 16 in the 5th tournament and fielded the first faction BS. We enjoyed the tournament so much, we kept Divine 0rder alliance going whilst Divine Retribution are now part of Sons of Tangra.
Win or lose, we look forwards to some great fights!

We are the Blade.
We are blunt.
We fly ravens, are paranoid, have two left feet and generally are replicas of nerds from south-park WoW episode.
We lose capitals everywhere, we can't kill anything, we're bob pets, and aren't capable of maintaining poses.
Bet on us! |

We currently live in southern Syndicate.
Huzzah Federation has existed, in a number of different forms, for over four years and some of us have been flying together for that long.
We're in the tournament this year because every previous year we talked about taking part but failed to do anything about it.
As to the best team in the tournament ? Tell you on the 8th of February. |

We're RUDE, many of us have been flying together for about 4 years now. After watching the tournaments from the sidelines for five years, we saw the oppurtunity to apply so we did. Are we the best team? this ruleset is a bit of rock paper scissors, so I don't think there will be a lot of 'best teams' but there will be a lot of upsets I think. Other than that judge us by our actions and our matches. It's all for fun anyway, GL to all the other teams.

I definitely agree about the rock-paper-scissors nature of this year's tournament. Many of the matches are going to be determined significantly based on which team put forth the setup with a significant advantage against the other.
Should be fun regardless, but with a bad matchup, any good team can lose to any other good team.

I agree. CCP really didn't look close enough at the rules. There are a couple setups that destroy nearly everything else, and there are a couple setups that beat those setups, but lose to everything else. I have my rock, and my paper, still looking for the scissors.

Agreed. This isn't so much about skill or SP or tactics as it is about luck. I guess maybe it's a good thing CCP isn't covering the first 2 rounds, otherwise we'd all know what everyone has, and worry ourselves sick with what to bring to beat them. I'm not exactly sure what I'd want different though, lack of RR is nice, but I guess this tourney just reflects the fact that on Tranquility even, there's not too much skill/tactics involved anymore, it's mainly 3-4 fleet/roaming gang compositions that are all counters for each other, and no way to really improve on that. -----------

Edited by: Rajere on 22/01/2009 00:27:03 I know what they were trying to do with the rules this time around, but think they went overboard. Everyone agrees it made for boring matches when one dual logistics team faced off against another dual logistics team last year. But Dual Logistics were easily beatable last tournament, All you needed was 1) ECM, 2) Neuts, or simply 3) DPS. but too many alliances still fielded dual logistics as a crutch, and with the point costs as they were, after dual logistics and one or more of the above counters to the other teams dual logistics, you weren't left with very much breathing room.
Reducing the point cost for everything except logistics ships would have been enough. that way every team could easily field enough ECM/Neuts/DPS to counter dual logistics, even triple logistics, without worrying about getting easily countered by a different setup. That would allow people to field single/dual logistics/remote reps (bs, etc) without turning this tournament into a rock/paper/scissors gank fest.
With the rules how they are now, this tournament doesn't mean nearly as much as the previous ones, especially considering that this is practically a single elimination contest from the get go (lol 2 matches "ranking" system), thus far too much depends entirely on who you drew randomly for your first fight. -------------------------- NOTR Sig removed, inappropriate content. 1. Wrong thread for whining about rules. 2. Fail to see how banning Remote Repair module made this into a rock/paper/scicors match? 3. Read the rules thread where ccp explain why Remote Repair is not allowed for this tournament (hint, not because of logistic ships) 4. Disappointed that Notoriety is complaining, was a big fan of you all last tournament and was looking forward to seeing what you come with this time around |

Rajere doesn't speak for us as a whole, but is simply expressing his personal opinion. I will admit that at first I was disappointed about the lack of logisitics and the "only two round ranking" of the swiss system, but I understand where is came from and got past it. I am VERY excited about the tournament, and at least as excited to show you what we've come up with. ________________________

The problem with this tournament has nothing to do with the lack of remote reps. It has everything to do with several other game mechanics that have changed in the last year.

How long have you been flying together? Most of us have been flying with each other for nearly 2 years (longer than the alliance has been going)
Why did you join the Alliance Tournament? We are an alliance, we wanted to see if we have the right "stuffs"
Have you been in the Tournament before and how did you do? No
Do you think you are the best team in the field? Unlikely, but if you have fought beside or against us before you know we are tenacious bastards who go down kicking and screaming

Let's just say if you understand the rules of their 2 match "ranking" system, you'll understand why they are hesitant to commit to putting up video for the first two rounds. |

Hmm.... I thought someone had already done this,,, guess not, so I'll check it off the list quick.
1: We live everywhere.
2: A very very long time. But not from a galaxy far far away.
3: Joined because its pvp, and a unique form of it at that. That's more than enough to pique our curiousity.
4: Nah, its hard to juggle formal competition and wars.
5: I always think we're the best, speaking personally I don't know how anyone could go around not believing they can be the best given sufficient effort. That said, I'm sure there are any number of other high quality teams out there.

Frater Adhuc Excessum ( fancy latin words for Brothers 'Till Death )[.BTD.]
We reside all over the EVE Universe, but mainly hover around the edge of the Lonetrek region. Our Alliance is about 5-6 months old. We tired of the rules and requirements of other larger alliances, so we formed our own. PET is not a name any of our pilots want on their shoulders, so we make our own space. We are open to all occupations of EVE, so it may take some time to get more specialized pilots for certain fields.
Some of our pilots have been playing games online together since the late 1900's, lol, but in game we've had players hanging tuff for a few years. Even those that have moved on still keep in touch and join the occasional romp.
We joined the 6th Alliance Tournament to get our feet wet and maybe get the name out. Not a big fan of the latin words, but after all the trouble with the name, bashing and ribbing, maybe it's not so bad after all. Adversity tends to bring out the best in people.
This is our first Tourney involvement. As we grow, the alliance may see better days and have more PVP pilots at the ready for future Tournaments. We are far from the best team in the field, but with current rules, even the 'lil guys have a chance.
Never Hurts to try . . . much.
