i ninja rat and salvage in my ishkur. there isnt a better frig for the job. ive taken down officer spawns with 3.7mill bounty rats no problem. u can make 20mill/hour, not including the salvage and meta 4 or officer drops. taking a BS into 0.0 for ratting is really risky. i wouldnt even take a cruiser, as u cant make it past gate camps and u usually cant burn back to the gate in time. |

basically the better the ship is at killing the big rats the heavier its going to be. Meaning you're going to be slow to warp out.
The smaller ships can't kill as effectively and if so then they are bound to be t2 ships and cost close to what you would pay for an insurable Raven. You might not get caught as often but if you do you're going to be paying more isk.
Yes smaller ships can rat in 0.0, I've done so in an interceptor but it doesn't beat a torp or even cruise raven in efficiency. You can say that you rat in a small ship in 0.0 but you have to wonder how much you could be making doing L3s instead with far less risk. Some people probably rat in a small ship just to say that they rat in 0.0 as opposed to doing missions.
Things to consider mounting on a raven for ratting:
energy neutralizer
smart bomb
web
bubble camps. ninja rat in your AF's kids.

Yeah the inevitable death will be less stressful on your wallet for sure since frigate fittings are dirt cheap. Which brings up the #1 0.0 ratter the Pilgrim. Fitted out with heavy pulse and a fat shield tank it lols at both officer rats and bubble camps.
recons are the only cruisers i support for ninja ratting  |
