I find the horrid aspect to be the sheer number of people in the world today who won't take responsibility for their own actions and who raise their children to feel the same way. The rampant attitude of entitlement is sickening. Let's look at the facts: 1) You violated the EULA by sharing an account. 2) Your son, for whom you are responsible, violated the EULA by RMT. Your response? "I shouldn't be punished. Punishing me is unfair." I suppose the reason that the son doesn't play by the rules is because the role model parent has the attitude that rules don't apply to him. Sadly, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

So you could instanlty launder this illegaly purchased ISK by buying goods, such as ships etc.
Then when CCP catch you, instead of taking 300mil from your account and leaving you with a negative wallet, they take the remailing 10k ISK thats in your wallet, and set you to 0 ISK.
You are happy because you have all your ships and have not really been punished.
Your 'fairer' solution is crap.
You did a bad thing by supporting RMTers and buying illegal ISK, and you should feel bad.

Dude I'm 43 and even I think your whining.... had you done even a modicum of research then you could have solved your problem easily, instead you came here, admitted you shared your account and someone living under your roof broke the rules and you expect what.... sympathy ? - it has little to do with the state of the community here, to be honest you sound like your trolling.

OP is a half-decent troll, but he should have paid attention to previous dev posts on the topic. They've said they're not going to go back very far at all due to the manpower involved, especially as it would mean current offenders would be getting away with it. They've also recently reversed that position slightly, by stating they're going back as far as February this year.
8/10, but would have scored 9 if he'd claimed his "son" broke the rules after Feb of this year. |

The claim is: He was no longer playing eve, for quite some time and in that time, his son ( who was on the same IP address ) was RMTing on his own account.
Don't know how much weight the claim has or could have, or if IP addresses are even relevant, but that was the claim.
Now, could one of the dev's possibly lock this thread? i don't think there's much more useful that can be said here. Yes i am dutch, no i don't do drugs. |

Story is too elaborate to be true tbqfh. Liars tend to overcomplicate things when they tell stories.
More likely scenario is:
Dude bought ISK, blames his "son" (who we don't even know exists) got caught and is now sorry he got caught so he's looking for forum sympathy.
Also, it is not "YOUR" account, the account and all its contents belong to CCP. If you think that "the world has stooped" somewhere, then you should've read the EULA prior to agreeing to it. Because you are only paying for the right to play the game by the games' rules. (which you self-admittedly broke)
Also all this high-horse bullshit "Oh, forumites are so disrespectful"-nonsense is so full of pseudo-righteous indignation it's not funny, take your passive aggressive nonsense someplace else. On forums like these you will get treated by your words, which frankly have left you wanting.
Next time you make a booboo, don't vent it in front of an audience, they will never take your side. Because bullshit is smelt a mile away. Ronald Reagan: I do not like Sweden, they support communism. Minister: Sir, but Sweden are anti-communist, Sir.-á Ronald Reagan: I do not care what kind of communists they are. |

CCP does IP-bans for some violations. They ban the kids account, they'll catch the fathers account in the same net.
This actually begs the question, what is CCPs policy on this?
Violations go against the account-holder. But some of their measures can actually punish another account holder in the same household GÇô or on a shared network. |

Yes this is what we were trying to tell you. And CCP has been this way from the beginning iirc. The reasoning for this is because of the relationship CCP has with your bank account an such. The other problem is that the nature of EVE means that account sharing is VERY prone to theft and so if you were to claim that items were missing or that your account was stolen altogether then CCP would have even more reason to not help you and just ban you cause you broke the rules to prevent it in the first place.
What you can do like others has stated is to buy a PLEX (with your son's money of course) and sell it on the market using an alt or a corp wallet and then transfer it over to the effected character. You should be 200 mill or so in the green.
The purpose of the punishment in the form of a negative wallet is to make it VERY clear to NOT ever do it. Hell you could even make your son earn it back by making him rat in belts or do some missions or something.
As for the attitude you're getting from this thread, well I think you're getting a negative response from us cause we're picking up a bit of a self-entitlement complex from you. If you've played EVE as long as you say that account has been open you'd already know this about the community. We're both one of the most helpful and ruthless communities the internet has to offer for a gaming community.
ESPECIALLY when talking in places like GD or CAOD. You'd likely have had a MUCH better response in the New Citizen's Q&A and even though you aren't a "New Citizen" by any means it doesn't mean you can't ask questions there. I will admit though, NCQ&A still has its trolls and you'll have to take some advice with a grain of salt but most of us in there genuinely want to help. I guess we just sometimes like to reprimand you a little bit to make it stick :P The Drake is a Lie |

I love how you go right to the "kids these days" stereotype. You're just clueless about the EVE forums. Most video game forums are flame wars but EVE's is probably one of the worst. The majority of EVE players I've run in to are in their 20s-30s (myself included) many with children of their own. Generalizing doesnt make you look any better.
Posting this and not expecting a negative response is like going on Jerry Springer and expecting a thoughful, openminded discussion. I'm suprised you ONLY got debted 300mil. In any other game your account would have been banned no questions asked so count yourself thankful, CCP has already been kind to you as far as I can tell. |

My questions is whether or not the ability to sell/xfer the toons on the account was locked due to this infraction? I'm just curious.
As far as compensating for the fines: no big deal. If you have a BS, run L4s. If you're paranoid about incurring losses, run L3s in your BS. I'm sure you have some resources left over, so use them. Ratz drop reppers so you can repair for free.
