Yes another vote for CCP to purchase PlanetSide from SOE
it was a great game and the first of its kind but for some reason SOE felt like getting rid of it but not closing it down pretty much... its pretty obvious that they don't want it by not taking care of it, getting rid of the original developers, firing all the GM's and putting in idiots, or not including it on valve
same with Star Wars Galaxies and the crappy updates that ruined it |

An MMO with a steampunk setting that also has some magic in it like arcanum. This MMO is a FPS but also a space combat game, you can take off of plantes from ships, gigantic clockwork ships, and fly around and dogfight with people in the smaller ones, or just hover there in the huge ones with automated flak guns and whatnot, and maybe bombard a planet, from orbit pewpewpew, then land on planets and run around shooting people with your mechanical deathray or whatever.
No pve content, the ground based stuff is set up like planetside (the tech people vs the magic people vs the magic+tech hybrid people), fighting over things like starports and factories and other resources to create the space ships.
This is all in a seamless fashion also, not different zones or instances or anything. Ground people can actually coordinate strikes by huge space ships in high orbit to launch all their guns and whatnot to take out an enemy fortification ^_^
There is also space things, stations you can land on and do stuff in. Planets are needed for their industrial power but science is mostly done in space and people mostly live in space unless they are the people who work in the heavily automated factories/farms on the surface of planets or are in a small purpose based colony on a planet.
Theres also asteroid mining and stuff for people who like that kind of thing. I wont call that pve content because you can get shot at.
Player made cities and bases on the surface of planets, player made stations in orbit.
You can walk around inside your ship if you want, or somebody elses ship, while its shooting stuff at a planet, and look out the window.

You might've liked Tabula Rasa (heard they're closing it in February though). I'd actually go for a Thief MMO of sorts. Not sure what/where they'd set it or even how you'd go about doing it.
I dunno, maybe a Star Commander MMO would be pretty fun, but isn't that what EVE is? |

I also vote for Planetside. Some of my favorite momments in any MMO happened in that game. I remember taking down a fully manned gunship in a 2 man jeep. With me gunning and my friend driving like a madman to avoid the gunfire raining down on us. Went on for 5 min and our vehical at 2% health when the gunship finnaly went down. We both felt like it was one of the most epic boss fights we'd ever had. It's such a horrible shame it's all but died now. Please buy the rights to this game. Hell anyone except EA buy it.

I'd like to see CCP's take on SWG. I really enjoyed playing SWG, even when CU came in but not when NGE landed  , so I'd liekm to see that. I like to think that Jedi would have been like the Jove and not actually player characters.
SWG did have the best resource/crafting system I've seen in the many MMO's I've played/tried.

I have to disagree with you there. Now first to clarify: im not talking about the FPS mechanics or such, but story, setting and potential (both RP-wise and for content). I'm a computer engineer and a huge RP fan, having played/gamemastered both CRPGs and PnP RPGs for almost two decades now (planescape: torment is still one of the favorites. the story is just GOOD).
Fallout 3 is NOT that bad, though its nowhere near 1 and 2 of course: the "multiple endings" are a sham and the game always stops short of the morbid and politically incorrect fun that you could find in FO 1 and 2 unfortunately (marrying and selling your wife into slavery in FO 2 just sort of fit the wasteland mindset so perfectly).
But the modding.. thats what is gonna make is fabulous in the future in my opinion. The downloadable content (specifically the one in march.. *drool*) and the huge fan community that now has the TOOLS to actually make new fallout stories, and put them out there for everyone to see without having to hack and work against the system as they had to in FO 1 and 2.
CCP and the Wasteland mindset is a perfect fit to be honest, and if anyone were to create a adequately dark Fallout Online, it would be them. There is another "spiritually comparable" game in closed beta (i think..) now called Fallen Earth that seems slightly promising, but I have my doubts.

A single-player EvE RPG. There's lots of room in the backstory and it wouldn't need to be connected to the MMO in any way (except in name and common history).

Anything EA puts out, CCP could do better.
Although it's single player, I'd love to see CCP do Dragon Age. Now that EA has their dirty hands in Bioware, DA will suck.

EVE is fairly well done compared to some of the other MMO's I've played. Specifically, Planetside and Battleground Europe.
That said, I don't want to see CCP taking on another game.
If they split their attention - EVE will suffer.
PS was a great game when it came out but it needed numbers to make it great. SOE ruined it as they did SWG and become the hoover of game developers sucking up every thing under the sun - all of which hey shorted in the name of EQ. Then WoW came along and clobbered EQ and I just laughed.
