Can Refining array anchored at poses refine/reprocess rat loot? Does it work for all the refining arrys or just the intensive one?

This, and it's worth mentioning for anything other than ICE the MAXIMUM you will get out is 35% for the refinery array (65% gets lost) and 75% for the intensive arrays (25% gets lost). Which means that the arrays in general are pretty much a universally bad idea unless you are refining ice. They served some purpose before 0.0 was littered with outposts and Rorquals, now, not so much, just for ice.

thats not true. Most outposts in 0.0 have a base yield of 35% no different than the refinery array. Your refinery efficiency skill + the processing skill for the ore being refined will give a total yield much closer to 100%
With a base yield of 35% + refinery efficiency 5 + level 4 in the particular ore you get a 95% yield. There is an implant to get the extra 5% but most people will just use the intensive array.
For alloys you need scrap metal processing and metallurgy skills.

You're fogetting that refinery arrays are capped at 75% (for the big one) and no amount of skills will get you more than that 75% (cept for refining ice). --

No. No. No.
The refinery array will ONLY give you 35% of what you put in you can NEVER get even 36% even if you have max skills. Its 'base' is actually 50%, for ice, you only need the same skills as a 50% station to get 100% (Ice refining I).
The intensive refinery array also has a base of 50%, but again, is capped at 75% for non-ice. You can NEVER get more than 75% from ore / drone loot.
You are literally throwing ore away, skills or not.
For an outpost, you will get base 35-40% usually, which can mean 96-100%. Less any tax. Unless your refine tax is over 25%, or your skills that crappy that you would have got less than 75% at the outpost. It is always worth refining at the outpost instead.
Except of course with ICE, which does not suffer the 35 and 75% CAPS ! - only the arrays have these caps, this is NOT base yield, their base yield is 50%. They are totally different things.

Rorqual or Jump freighter will take more loot than most people can generate in a good while. The plus then is you can take it to an NPC refinery and get 100% back. |
