I hereby declare my oath of loyalty to the Minmatar Republic. I absolutely and wholly renounce all pledges, fidelities, and allegiances to any foreign sovereignties or powers. I swear to support and defend the Minmatar Republic, its people, policies, holdings, and agents, its sovereignty and the integrity of its territory against all enemies and usurpers, foreign and domestic. I will bear arms on behalf of the Minmatar Republic in times of war, and will perform civil service on its behalf in times of peace. I will obey, uphold, and defend its laws and treaties. I will perform work of national importance under governmental, military, or civilian direction as required by the Minmatar Republic in times of emergency. I make this commitment unreservedly, with no mental reservation or purpose of evasion.
With this oath, I affirm and assert my loyalty to the Minmatar Republic.

The Republic has fallen into the political game of the foreign powers. Starting to act as one of 'em.
The Tribes are losing all indipendence and diversity, especially the smaller one's. I don't like seeing tribes interefering in other tribes' buisness.
In my opinion the tribes should only work together on military base to fight of common foe's.
I respect your devotion but you should stand behind your tribe not a "federation" inspired organisation.

And so the fine line between tribe and republic begins to fade. The lines have been drawn, tribes are becoming a thing of the past.
We of Clan Raven refuted such oaths to the Republic long ago. We live for the Minmitar people, not a cowtailing nation.
We had ways that worked well for us in the past, they can work again. I will not trade my traditions in for citizenship. ---------------------------------

Edited by: Hakera on 30/07/2004 12:24:29 Excellent my Bretheren!
Our people are under constant attack by the forces of the CVA, currently, the only way to defend against it is to declare a legal war against them with Concord.
I accept your oath and bind you to it!

Unifiying by under one flag does not mean your individual cultures are going to be assimilated into each other to create a minmatar super culture. That is as long as all the entities involed come in as equals, and not take the Gallente model of cooperation.
Take example of the old earth Cheyenne of the Americas, before they unified they were numuorous seperate tribes and for the most part were inneffective at defending thier lands, but once they unified under one banner they became much stronger than if thier force was tallied up as seperate entities. And even though they lost in the long run it took the full force of the United States (first republic) to passify them.
Let's just hope that in this case, the minmatar don't meat the same fate. But in any case, unification is always better than fragmentation.. and my personal plug, a unfied republic means easier trading as there are more standard rules governing the practice, instead of dealing with the rules of each individual tribe.

So this means the PRM no longer exist then right?
If you're all pledging allegiance to the Minmatar Republic then surely the PRM which has claimed a chunk of Minmatar Republic space is no friend of any Minmatar loyal to the Minmatar Republic?

I could be very wrong, Hardin, but I don't think Gradient, (anti-secessionist Old Republic loyalists that they are,) are anything to do with the PRM.

Well you and your tribes get so confusing.
I see Hakera pledging his loyalty to the Republic above. I always assumed he was in the PRM. (And yes I know what assumptions are).
If he's not ta member of the PRM then he is at perfect liberty to embrace the Minmatar Republic - if he is then exactly who is he supporting?
It will be good when the Emperor eventually orders the reclaiming and we no longer have to worry about your petty tribes and 'republics'.

I may be wrong here (one of those pesky assumptions) but I think Hakera was under the impression gradient was pledging to the prm.
