Clicked wrong skill, trained for 5-20 seconds before realizing it.
Can we change this please to be +5% to next level before it changes to a partially trained skill please ?
Maybe a slider with > 0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, etc. instead of the current 1/0 SP above the last level, before the skill overview highlights a skill that is partially trained ? -- EVE Mobile Skill Planner V3 !! http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/ |

Or better yet, go to Character Sheet > Skills > Settings and uncheck the box labeled "Highlight partially trained skills". |

I think it is a good idea. It would be great to have a slider.

I've been in a similar situation and seriously your only option is to now finish training that skill. (As has been said, ignoring is not an option.) |

I turned off that highlight thing. Best thing I ever did.
On an alt I have 6 hours left for Spatial Awareness V. Thats been sitting there for about 6 months now. That would kill some OCD people |

^ This. You have to finish it now. Regarding OCD, I even have an application (written in XQuery) that lists among other things unfinished skills. Can't stand it if that list shows more than one entry :).

I personally handle this problem as follows:
Make it your personal goal to train all skills to level V, and any unfinished skills on your list are just more SP on the way to your ultimate goal.

First of all, the setting is turned off by default (at least for me) im a new player, maybe the default setting was ON for older players.
And then, I love this feature. Sometimes I want/need to train several things so I start them all and let them do 1-2sp so the text gets yellow. So I get a nice "reminder" like, "hey dude, you need to train this soon".
I don't use evemon, I stick to my own brain :) |

Obviously your own brain isn't that great if you need a bright yellow reminder. :P |

I support this thread - what I did once was I went to a School station and basically went through the lists of skills and bought every skill that I could train and afford, because I knew I'd have to train them at some point anyways and this way I'd be able to just click, train, instead of going out of my way then to buy the skillbook. Whatever - as a result though, I have probably 20+ skills with a few SP each and a yellow marking on them. I've turned off the yellow marking as a result but it would be nice to turn it back on :) |

I'm in the same situation. I like collecting skills and I have a ton of refining stuff I will probably never train but it is highlighted in yellow. Got a few skills I hit by accident as well and got like 1 or 2 SP to the next level in them. Seriously annoys me |

Yeah seriously I got minor OCD and that yellow annoys me for the skills I trained for 10 seconds. I ended up turning it off though. |

I, and I suspect allot of other peeps, buy skills I am going to need and kick em off for a couple of SP so I can train them later without having to retrieve them from what ever station I left em at..... An option to set the level where the yellow warning kicks in would be nice.
But seriously if the yellow thing bugs you that much that you need to go see the quack for more drugs to cope with the OCD factor... just turn it off ;)
Personally I just like the drugs anyway....

Maybe you should post more often about the things in EVE that bug you. Where to you think that all the UI improvements since Gemini came from ?

yeah, I'm OCD me thinks. I have a couple long skills that are 10% done (medium arty spec 5, sigh) and they drive me nuts.
If it's just a few seconds, meh, I can live with it; but when you're a couple days in, you might as well finish it.

I actually enjoy knowing which skills are partially trained. I guess this is a something CCP thought was relevant to a lot of people. Anyways, just disable the feature. -- Tactical Enforcement Company |

I have it turned on because usually I want to train the skill to the next level
do have a few with 1-10 or so sp over. and a few skills I thought would be helpful, but really aren't or I don't need. |

I have mine turned on to remind myself where I left off. Mine has like 10 skills yellow, all with about 3-6 seconds trained into them. Whenever I get to a point where I can get new skills, and they're skills I'll eventually want to train, I generally buy the books and train them to "Level 0" so I don't have to go get the book when I eventually need to train them.
I seriously have like a dozen or so "Level 0" skills that I will eventually train. |

I remember something about people actually asking CCP to put this in because they hated not being instantly able to see if a skill was partly trained or not.
Personally it depends on the character my alt I love this feature because she tends to train 10 skills all to level 5 first racing through the first level for all of them (science skills) then doing the next level which you cannot always finish all in one day, the same for the level after that etc... it is much better for me to see which are partly trained so I can check if I can train that over downtime, or if I can do that while watching a movie (to prevent from having to pause the movie in the middle for changing a skills (now that is a whole other can of OCD worms there))
But for may main I like to train a single skill and I don't care which skills are partly done because if I stoped them at some point I did so because I decided against training them. If I ever decide to train them again I'll just train them a little faster, but I don't want them to be yellow all the time.
A slider might help but then again you can just switch that highlighting of and get it over with. ------------------------------------------- Should you disagree with me, well I guess that is because I disagree with you. If you have a problem with that please feel free not to tell me. |
