The "Loot Magnet" is best. Was it "Gold Magnate"? |

Originally by: Warlin My solution is to clear the mission area/combat area then come back w/ a salvo-destroyer. Catalyst is my choice setup:
high: 4x salvo, 4x tractor beam mid: AB, Sensor booster low: 3x T2 cargo expanders
Sensor booster? Wha? What's the point in a 54km targetting range when tractors don't work past 20? Drop the booster and pop in cap recharger ftw.
I personally like 5x salv 3x tractors for timing purposes, but thats just me. |

^This.^
I find that the Golem's 4/3 is a pretty good fit but 5/3 would be better (my Lootageddon was nice). Over 3500m3 of cargo means I never need a hauler. The tractor range means I hardly ever have to move.
I run the missions in an NH then come back in the Golem. I can clean up GE4 in less than 15 minutes.
Typically I salvage stuff first then get the contents of surviving cans. That saves the time wasted looking in empty cans for loot.
Cost-wise a Golem doesn't really make sense but it does make salvaging less hassle. That stops me from running missions back to back which reduces the boredom factor a little. For me it's about convenience. I'm wealthy enough not to be interested in profit but it's handy to have my own private stock of loot/salvage. The Golem means that I maintain that stock without dreading the experience. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

Just to point this out, are you aware that cans with loot appear as solid white icons, whereas empty cans (ie salvage only) appear as 'empty' icons? ---

Alt in a logistics cruiser pumping shields into your mission ship while salvaging. MWD blockade runner to pick up any leftover cans |

Yes, thanks :)
Unfortunately it's not a huge visual difference and concentrating enough to see it and make a decision upsets my natural rhythm. 'Always salvage' is easier to work with than 'Check if it has loot, maybe loot it, then salvage' :) -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

An Eris with salvage rigs is pretty nice. 8 highs for tractors/salvagers (I use 4/4 myself), about 1k cargo space with expanders, and good speed on afterburner.
