The EVE Online Quantum Rise 1.0.5 patch has been deployed and Tranquility has returned to service. If you are experiencing any issues after the deployment, please check this thread as well as the Known Issues page to see if the Dev Team is already aware of it and submit a bug report. If you are unsure of what has been changed in this patch, please take a look at the Patch Notes page. |

"Patching error in file script\compiled.code. An unknown error has occured. please try to install this patch again.

Anybody know what this means / how to fix it??
Can I replace the "compiled.code" file from another computer with a functioning EVE client?
I really do not want to reinstall... |

Currently receiving this error when I try to update via Steam. I am living in Eastern Canada, and normally have a flawless connection to the server and have never been dropped. Is this just patch day woes and CCP's download servers unable to handle the traffic? Or is there something wrong with my particular location? I know there are lots of people who have their countries locked out of CCP's servers, but I don't think that should affect me? Should I just come back later or is there anything I can do to get the file now? I also cannot download it from the website. Whenever I go to the web address ccp.vo.llnwd.net. I am given a page load error cannot find server.. which is usually what happens when a server is being hammered. Maybe get a response so that others having this issue will know to just cool it and wait.

It would help the CCP developers if everyone who reports a problem lists what client they are running - XP / Vista 32 or 64 bit, Mac or Linux.
Would be easier to spot a common theme that way. |

Are you running Premium or Classic? What build number are your current install running? (Can be seen in the lower left corner on the log in screen) What patch are you trying to apply? (What is the name of the patch) Where are you downloading it from? (Auto patching or Manual patching) What error are you getting?

Premium Build: 5.20.72263 Patch: Quantum Rise 1.05, both auto and manual will not download. Error in original post.
The website address http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch72263-75883.exe which holds the manual post will not work for all of us. For some reason your servers are denying access to people using eastlink, it would appear.

US Networks can download the file. I was able to get a friend to send it to me from America.
It appears that your servers are denying access to those from eastern Canada. |

The eastern canada download issue is definitely an ISP problem:

Greetings everyone. It is not CCP that is blocking us from this website. For some reason, our service provider (eastlink) is blocking this particular website http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch72263-75883.exe in order to download the patch, you will need to use a http proxy. I suggest "Nopum" I was able to download the file using it.
Repeat, it is NOT CCP. |

ok no problems down loading the patch. i updated 3 installs 3 different computers...log in for maybe 40 seconds click market whamo no bsod no error just stright reboot....beep mem count hardware etc try to log in again.. enter password hit enter whemo again reboot...hmmm go to second computer... log in get to station screen slight hicup boom reboot on a totally different machine.
Figure ok gotta be somthing my end just my luck right... 3rd computer basic same story as above. reboots on launch of eve only now. bf2142 gta IV cod etc all run fine. somthing go south? i have latest direct x drivers vid drivers for nvidia etc all xp corp addition comps also

Do you have any intention of fixing the bug with the UI on POS structures that prevents the 3rd option of "use" being edited on structures such as corp hanger and ship bay? If not how do I go about getting this resolved without having to wait ages for a patch?

Please file a bug report with step by step instructions on how to generate this error, I can honestly say I have no idea what you are referring to and can therefore not comment on whether it is being fixed or not. ------------------

couldn't auto update through the client. tried manually downloading the patch from the website , but displayed an error. same error when i tried to download the full builds of both the classic & premium versions. then , someone suggested using " nopum " to download patch. it worked & patching was successful & i am currently logged in . i have decided to strt a 15 day skill on march 9 th , seeing the way a simple patch like today's can be so problematic.

Hi, I play EVE under Linux. After downloading and installing the patch via eve-client the login-screen just stays black after starting the game. Tried several times, waited for some minutes... nothing to see and therefore can't log in regards, Zubb [AETA] ----------------- Never knock on Death's door. Ring the bell and run! Death hates that. |

When I applied the patch, it hung for a while, and then said something like, 'Patch could not be applied as some of the files are locked, please reboot your computer'
Is this normal procedure now?, as I play in a gamecafe, and when the PC is rebooted, it wipes all data from the session, including the patch :(. So, it would be impossible to apply this or any other patch in future.
Windows XP, Classic client, Version 5 10 58188. Manual patch. (This is my normal method, with the patch saved to USB memory stick.)

Ok.. further testing on my end... 3 different computers..
windows xp pro 32 bit
eve build 5.20.72263 auto updated- classic Also fresh install EVE_Premium_Setup_75883 Downloaded from http://www.eve-online.com/download/windows.asp No error messages just reboots everytime. in log file in location x:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME HERE\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE Has alot of 2009.01.27 16:13:39STARTUP [2380]
1st.. Did auto update to new current patch on 3 different computers all windows 32bit. get past character select load station and computers reboot all 3 of them.
2nd.. clear cache and backup settings cleared settings to just in case. launch eve again this time get the read me scroll to bottom deal with option to accept, but b4 i even try to scroll reboot... 3rd... Download brand new client premium 1.30gigs installs ask if i want to launch now etc yes. starts intro... reboot..
4th... uninstall vid drivers and re install double check direct x all up to date, launch eve again see the nice scroll /accept message again reboot.. am i the only one having this issue on 3 systems? Apart from zeroing my drive on 1 and going all fresh im at a loss. shred..

I contacted eastlink and pointed out the socket issue and they appear to have fixed the issue.

i am from in india too . use airtel too . i was facing the same problem . use nopum.com ( a http proxy ) to manually download the patch using a download manager . then , run the patch . it works .
go to the patch page in th eve website and copy the patch url & eneter that url in the field in the nopum page . hope this helps. later . . . |

Just for info; Patch downloaded and installed by autopatcher on Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista 32bit SP1 and Windows 7 Beta. All Installs completed successfully and clients seem to be running fine.

EDIT > Ok, have been able to succesfully patch via Auto-patching, but this means I will have to do this every time i play, unless the manual patch thing is just a one off bug/corrupted patch.
This happens when the client doesn't close properly before the patching process starts. Or if another instance of the client is running from the same path, in any case it should not be common. Please make sure no clients are running when applying patch. ------------------

I am at a loss, if you keep running into this then please file a bug report with crash dumps and log files. Maybe some other software (antivirus?) you have running on all machines is interfering with the process?

This is the error I am getting when I try to auto patch:

When I try to download the patch, I get a "Failed to download, source file cannot be read" error.
I use Win XP SP3 32bit, Premium Client. I have lots of hard disk space too.
@Ath, the nopum idea did not work out. I got a "This account has been suspended" error. Could someone who has downloaded the latest Windows Premium client patch upload it to a third party host site like Rapidshare? Thanks!

I'm getting a wierd bug. Its first bug i've submitted, so i'm posting here and sending a bug report.
About an hour ago I trained 'Electronics Lv1' on a new character. I had the skill book in my items since before todays patch.
Just now I noticed that another Electronics skill book has appeared in my items and i don't remember buying it. AT first I clicked 'train skill' but it didn't disapear into my skill list. Checking my skills tab i confirm i already have Electronics skill. Confused as to what happened, I try and sell the new Electronics Skill from my items, which brings up an unusual message that looks like its something to do with implants!?
I took these steps: open items > Sell item(Electronics skill book) > view detailed market info > advanced > set price 17000isk > sell
The item does not go onto the market, instead i get this message in a small window: "It requires a qualified physician to remove anything plugged into yourself."
The bug is repeatable. I don't 'appear' to have lost anything or suffered any effects. |

I can hit the Eve site, as well as the front end for the download, it times out when getting the patch, or full download. It also times out from the Eve client.
I've tried from my Eve system, WinXPSP3 as well as my laptop with Ubuntu 8.1.
Seems to be only on the downloads.

Its a small point on the PLEX redeeming feature; But bear in mind people, if you buy a plex directly from CCP as opposed to buying a GTC from your favourite vendor (Battleclinic, eve-central, etc) these organisations wont get any commission. You wont be supporting the little guy you like, as much.
If you always bought direct from CCP anyway then it makes no difference and will be easier this way for you.
Just a thought.

Ok got the patch, and no problems after that, if you are having problems downloading the patch as it it seems lots of isps have an issue with ccp.vo.llnwd.net just use a proxy. I suggest http://www.sneakme.net/
Just paste in http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/eveclassicpatch72263-75883.exe and away you go.
N.B Change the URL if you want the premium patch

I live in Eastern Canada (New Brunswick) and as many others, the ISP seems to be blocking the patch site.
Are there any alternate download sites? The ones I've seen only have old patches.
I'm currently trying to upgrade build 72263 to 75883

Here is my work around for those jammed by the ISP
Go to http://www.rocketsurf.net/
entire the address of the patch you need, examples follow
- Premium client: http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch72263-75883.exe Classic client: http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/eveclassicpatch72263-75883.exe -
This will download the patch to your PC. From there manually patch the client.
You should be good to go.
Then call the ISP and tell them to unblock "ccp.vo.llnwd.net" |

Just so it is clear to me on this. Will I now be able to buy PLEX out of the client the same way that I buy a GTC? SO I.E I go to the eve store put 1 PLEX in my cart pay for it. it then shows up in my hanger and I can do what I will to it from there?

Ok, thanks for the patch ccp, here is a list of the problems I've had so far.
1. 25m from jumpgate, cant jump because I'm not within range, I thought 2500m was the threshold, has this changed. (lost a hauler full of faction mods and ships, thank you...)
2. Modules randomly offline during undock, when you try to online them in space, with a capacitor of 100% you get the message, "you must have 95% cap and your cap is at 55%"
3. The modules rings that come on when a module is activated doesn't come on anymore. In fact there is no way to tell if a module is active or not.
4. No damage notifications, and you cant damage structures.
I'd have to say that out of all the patches this one is a (insert witty word here)

I have same problem with QR 1.0.4 Urp - but cache cleaning help me to resolve this problem.

Both of my clients patched fine and IÆve had no issues. I do have some positive feedback.
Running an EVE client (window mode) increases my CPU temps from under 40 to hover around 60 degrees centigrade. It stays that way û regardless if the client window is in focus, in the background, or minimised. Exit from the client and within 20 seconds the temperatures are back to normal.
Run two clients û as I normally do, and the temp figures are higher.
Since this last patch the EVE client has the same impact on temperature - but the moment the client window is not in focus, the temps drop back to less than 40 degrees (and there is a mild reduction in CPU load).
I can bring the client window to the foreground, watch the CPU temps increase, then click on the desktop, and watch the CPU temps quickly decrease. I guess / assume the client is using fewer resources when not specifically in focus.
The apparent benefit is that when running two clients, each client seems to run a little better now.
I noticed this with the Singularity client before the upgrade, and myself and a couple other people mentioned something similar in the original patch thread û but it was somewhat dismissed. I just wanted to reaffirm that whether by design or luck, I am getting better performance while running two clients since the latest patch.

1. Jam timer indicator seems to be missing. 2. Drones still wont return to drone bay properly... but now they also seem to abandon themselves. 3. Ship sometimes doesnt want to warp... ending in ship being destroyed. 4. Scroll wheel stops working ingame for IGB, mission windows, and channel windows; but keeps working for space. ------------------------ To make a megathron from scratch, you must first invent the eve universe. ------------------------ Life sucks and then you get podded. |

I have had a issue with Drones returning to ship after killing a NPC Rat. 3 drones return just fine and leaves 2 drones in space that I have to go a manually pick back up. I am not the only one in my Alliance having this issue. This issue has only happened sense the new Patch release.

Is anyone else experiencing occassional temporary graphics freezing? EVE will freeze for a few seconds and then continue normally. I just started playing EVE a few days ago but did not notice this behavior until after the upgrade.
I tried downgrading to normal graphics but that did not help. The problem does not make the game unplayable but in a close fight it could be fatal.
BTW, I'm new to the forums ... I would attach a dxdiag output of my system but I don't see how to attach files in this forum. |

My power supply was on its way out the door got worse after i posted. every time the cpu or gpu came under load was like a dead short so system rebooted thanks to mobo fault protection and pwr supply started getting really hot even with good cooling . got new pwr supply and all is well. better fps now to that video card is getting proper voltage client seems to load better to since patch now that i can log on again.

In the previous thread about the patch coming soon, I posted about how the Steam download says you have extra files and won't work. A dev asked me to check the files that are missing for him, but I didn't get the reply until the thread was locked so I'm doing it in this thread.
Anyway, to test shouldn't be hard. Just try to download/play eve in steam from scratch and watch it not work. I don't remember the files exactly, but found a few posts on the steam forums about it. Here is one with a screenshot link:

If you are getting an error about extra files, deleting them should resolve the issue. If it does not, delete your entire cache directory and try again.
The version of the EVE client currently available through Steam is an older version of the client (1.0.1 rather than 1.0.5) so would be unchanged from early December. We have verified that the version of the client available through Steam does not contain any excess files and that it patches properly.
If you continue to have issues with the Steam download, I suggest completely removing your EVE Online directory and re-downloading a completely fresh client. The EVE Online directory can be found here: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\eve online.
If you do not wish to use the Steam download, you may also use the standard EVE client downloads, available here. ____________________________ I break things.Ö

Petition for my ship due to the bug # 3 has essentially been denied. Quite annoying; considering I should be reimbursed the ship.

Before patch this game was awesome but now Im having issues. Seems that lagging is very bad in some spots. Appears at random and has nothing to do with traffic. At times a small square appears just to the left side of my ship and that square alone lags and not the rest of the screen. It also appears to be pretty bad going in and out of warp not as much for gate jumping tho. And the crashes I have never in the history of playing eve seen the client crash as much. I've lost two ships because of it. The second time actually froze my computer up and caused it to go into sleep mode. Only way I could get it out of that then was to restart. I'm not for sure too well as to other issues or what this patch hoped to accomplish but for me it has made things far worse then they were. |
