I would like to see, some events where you were defending the pirate territory against CONCORD. For example, say an Angel Commander comes to report a CONCORD fleet in a Angel controlled system, it would then be up (to people with good Angel standing) to fight off the CONCORD.
And more events like the Serpentis Outpost event.
Always hit the big red button whenever you get the chance.

Events that are in .4 and lower systems and Event 2 times a week if possible, at least 1 time a week.

and if theres an event it would be much funnier if u didnt always expect opponents walking in on u ....make the events more player oriented , dont make em like some bad hollywood picture where there always is a "bad guy" going against the "good guy" make it less mainstream, make more non combat events(like my show case)

I think NPC fleets should try and take control of player owned stations(Their leader can be an events guy, probably in the flagship of the fleet) Also they should take sides in alliance conflicts and actively hunt people that have killed NPC commanders or officers.

I think we need to see NPC invasion fleets.
Like this:
Pop up to all players in a certain region (same as stuck message/downtime) saying sommat like "serpentis fleet seen moving into region XXXX. Any players in the area wishing to repel this fleet are advised that the last system they were spotted in is XXXX"
Then all the players in that region can head out and scout for the NPC fleet. This would lead to a big fleet battle, most probably with multiple corps involved as one corp mustering theyre entire roster in about 10mins would be tough. Plus it would be the people in that region that would get the pop up message.
These events could be totally random, un-announced and differing in ability. They would need sommat like "no attack unless attacked" so they could pass through gates on theyre travels (to whateva theyre destination is, station, planet etc) and any players wouldnt get ganked by them at the gates.
Just imagine flying in ya indy through a 0.7 or sommat and seeing 5 NPC BS with 10 cruisers and 15 frigs in support
If this ever happened i think i would wet myself with joy at such an unpredictable and great event. A spontanioues(sp?) event. The fleet would basically be any1 in that region who wanted to join in. Even n00bs could show up, just to watch if they didnt want to get involved.

I like this idea... it is an event that requires no actors as no one has to notify people on channels thereby cutting down on man power and time that an event takes. The amount of events could be effectivelly doubled.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

Edited by: Emperor on 02/08/2004 15:28:18 i think a 2 sided dev event would be intresting. so you could pick the side give a bit of PvP as well as some dev interaction. Me and my corperation have been taking part in the events with the Serpentis and found it very fun, but due to some killing and some bad choice of words, it seems that the leader of the events in that part of space wont give us rewards for our actions anymore. perhaps being able to join the Serpentis to fight other players would be a option in future events Stains almost dead are you going to be next??? |

A tad more realisme. I took part in the Cathedral event, on the Tash-Murkon side. However, when the climax came and there was fighting to be done, all we could do was chose the side of Kor-Azor. The opposing forces were 2-3 Polaris people, basicly waiting to get shot by 30 other people. Why not have people chose sides and have realistic battles?

i REALLY want a Race event (Caldari vs Gallente, Amarr vs Minmatar)
Having an NPC fleet of Gallente ships scattered accross a system, and the Loyal Caldari have to blow them up

What others suggested: faction vs faction battles. There are so many ways to do this, oh the possibilities!
For example a system on the Ammatar - Minmatar border could be declared a war zone, so that any pilot/corp that is allied with say Ammatar Navy or Republic Fleet (respectively and mutually exclusive ofc) could fight eachother in that system without CONCORD intervention.
Dish out standing gain and loss according on which side players take part. Would be even more fun when both NPC corps would have some ships in the system (warping around to gates, stations) and when they would meet at the same spot they would engage eachoter - just for the show
Ofc the above factions could also be pirate vs DED (since fighting fits DED's description better than CONCORD's) factions.
s could fight pirates in secure space, s could come and pay empire a little visit again - would add much more PvP to the game in general and we could perhaps even see some massive multi-corp battles in Yulai
With faction ships coming in Shiva maybe your choosen NPC faction could reward you with some faction ships for your long service alongside them in the battle againg evil (whoever that may be ) - if you indeed help in the battles.
Oh the possibilities, oh the possibilities. I know not all of these could be made with the current event system but it would enhance overall PvP in game and would add nice RP possibilities.

I think there should be an opportunity to participate in an event wherever you are. For example, the Jove event. Giving body bits to everyone gave everyone the ability to participate, on a local/regional scale. Wherever you were, you could do something. With the current events, based in places that can be tens of jumps away, some people don't have the time to get to them, or have responsibilities elsewhere.
Also, on a sid eissue, it's been a week since the last bit of ingame news, with any inkling of relevance that it might have ingame. there either needs to be quicker progression with these stories, or run more stories concurrently. --- "Due to the European lard shortage, we are currently unable to supply this product." |

That was brilliant, and I concur that some events should be open to anyone, but just dumping things into cargo holds would be stale. Someone earlier in the thread mentioned events that would affect trade prices. There was an old Macintosh game called "Escape Velocity", a small part of which was news reports of disasters or economic windfalls. A well prepared player could take a look at the news each day, see that due to pirate battles heating up in system X he could make more money selling ammo to the in-system NPC (or even PC) factions, or he could show up in a gunboat and be treated to bonuses on bounties on pirates in that constellation. An extension of that could be system security statuses changing due to events. A .3 system being raised to .5 could have a huge affect on the traffic in the area, just as a .5 being lowered to a .3, or even to 0.0. Any number of justifications could be used.
