It is lovely how someone talks about balance of modules and not fitting 100mn afterburners on ruptures, when a fight played fair gets put down every damn time.
Our situation 10 minutes ago, what caused alot of irritation, is a coward act of someone logging off while we had his armor tanked apoc under fire with 6 frigates. It took us 10-20 minutes fighting unbalanced drones who hit us at 50-60km range doing non stop damage all the time, till we finally had them down the guy called in for help on local and logged his character off.
And to our great amazing his armor tanking went on, and after 2 minutes you character times out and vanishes. Here we were with 6 frigates x 2str warpscramblers and the apoc vanished before our very eyes.
So my question to CCP in particular:
How can one speak of balance on modules like putting 100mn afterburners on a rupture, cruise missles on frigates or cruisers, standing list of 300 people limit, TRACKING on drones, and tracking on guns while the following is still going on:
Graphical bugs to the interface while closing in on gates, ships not displaying. People logging off and cause them to use armor tanking while their ship VANISH! Local not displaying properly >>> It shows perfect that someone jumps in, but jumps out are delayed causing your tracking of targets become useless. Insane LAG while multible people jump in. Insane LAG while beeing part of a corporation when performing an act of agression (2 CA members have these troubles).
And in the meantime we talk about modules that dont belong??? on a certain ship? Who gives a damn **** about that while people lose there ships do to above points? And they are only a FACTION of what we encounter daily as pvp'ers. Why talk about balance when the last few patches only caused imbalance?

Thank you - completely agreed.
If ECM is an act of aggression, why am I not on kill mails?

Edited by: Dexter Rast on 01/08/2004 22:30:08 yeah i often wondered what would happen if i managed to get a defenceless BS warp scambled at a moon in my stiletto, would i be able to just sit there and wait for my backup to arrive, even if the guy logs off? i guess now i know
unlucky TGIF you guys sound like you deserved that kill by taking on the drones alone, i know what a pain in the ass they are to any frig/cruiser, and the fact you can`t hold onto your prey is a real bad game mechanic imho

That well and truly sucks mate.
In DAoC they have a setup where you cannot log until x amount of time after you have been in combat. Such a mechanic here would lead to situations like this not happening. Cloista Shadowblade. CEO of the Eligible Target Corp |

well, I really doubt you guys could take down apoc with good armor tanking setup anyway. 2 tech 2 large armor repair could fix all the damage from all 6 of you without any problem. Honestly, I think that guy just bored and logged. Next time try take on cruiser instead of Battleship. Even if you do take on battleship try anything other than Apoc, it could be the worst pick yet for frigates. hehe

invalid point, the fact that this can happen is the argument here, maybe he did have the perfect setup, maybe he didnt, the option should still be there for the frigs to have a chance and not be undone buy the guy simply loggin off

He was down to his last 5% when he vanished, he logged when his shields were down.
In total we stripped nearly 50% of his shields while beeing under fire of 3 battleships + reinforcements who came in later on. We had him allright, fact remains that a ship who logs should not have active modules at all or vanish. All the sudden his whole ship just gone, while i had still a tackle on him, caused my ship to stand still and beeing hit by the shooting battleships from 50km range.
btw, i havent seen a single tech2 large armor repairer on the market yet, though im buying them so plz tell me where i can find em.
PS: a gm answered me 2 months ago that logging off was part of the game mechanism's. - - -

Well, it appears that ccp has determined that logging is cowardly, but not an exploit. I think they should change the system so that if you are webbed and/or warp scrambled, you can't log. Of course, that requires the failsafe that if something actually happened to the user where their power went out or something, they'd need to be able to get their ship back. Ah, in circles we go. --------------
Your 720mm Howitzer Artillery I perfectly strikes Guristas Spy, wrecking for 411.2 damage. |

Agreed 100% with TGIF that what happen to him was BS!
Disagree though that dude(s) who fixes modules is same as dude(s) who fixes bugs... one would hope that they could work on all that at once...
for the record - the powergrid changes for module stuff is dumb... hope that they change their position... things are just gonna get borked and we gonna end up with not enough powergrid (won't complain if we end up with too much - but doubt that gonna happen)... -- Thread Killer

On a side note, I logged off an indy last week that happened to be inside a mobile warp disruptor. He was also moving. Once he was fully logged off, the indy continued to fly forever. It flew out of the bubble and off the grid. So apparently under some circumstances the ship will not disappear.
