I've also had this problem, but since they told us it had been "fixed" I've not had a problem.
For instance, one time I scrambled and webbed an Apoc in my Crow as he made for a gate. He left his armor tank running.
After about 3 minutes, he was still there, and I couldn't dent his armor. So I called in backup and we killed him. I have full FRAPS, and it's a huge file. Light missiles.
Basically, you have to have the neccessary scramble strength on the target WHEN he disconnects, or it's just 2 minutes. If he's scrambled when he d-conns, he stays until he's either a.) dead b.) Unscrambled and waits 2 mintutes.
Good times will always be remembered. Sleep well, old friends. |

I certainly think it is worthy of a thread. Tundragon frigate strike groups have also recently had this same thing happen vs norad pilots - very frustrating . |

I agree with this tactics
Yes...I'm a carebear
But why should we lose 100-200mil worth of ship to lame pirates who camp out mining systems....because they are too scared to go 1 on 1....with people who are set up for fighting
For small corps iits a lot to replace and if it happened a few times ...I'd just give this game up. a) its a game b) it suppose to be fun c) if you could buy a new BS every week then its not such a loss
I have no problem what so ever logging off to deny a pirate the loss of 120 mil worth of ship.

You are correct. It's just a game. So what exactly do carebear battleship miners mine for? You already have a BS, what are you gonna do with more money? Buy bp's? For what, more bs's? Why would you need more bs's unless you lose this one? Are you saving for a nice retirement?
If pirates don't blow up miners, they might as well quit after they get a BS. Nothing left to mine for except maybe a POS or something, which they could never defend without fighting.
And that old carebear miner arguement that pirates are pathetic and only pick on defenseless miners is silly. Most Pirates are just as happy to kill a bship loaded out for PvP as a any other ship. They don't discriminate.
I kill all sorts of players, from the defenseless miners to veteran PvP'ers. I enjoy killing PvP'ers more, but killing miners is more profitable because they are more willing to pay you money in order to live.

I agree with Mel'a Nie first of all I'm a miner all the time. imho if I don't want to fight, then I could using any way I could to escape or retreat, there is nothing wrong with it. I'm tired of ganking by pirate, you shouldn't blame ppl for saving his/her life, especially when he/she is not a fighter
2004.10.09 02:38:01combatYour 800mm Repeating Artillery I perfectly strikes Sansha's Ravager, wrecking for 277.2 damage. |

I don't see an alternative for handling abnormal disconnects (as someone previously said - power failure, network failure, etc)
It seems that your opponent used the rules of the game to his advantage.
Full kudos to him.

I'm not going to agree or disagree with the tactic, however if you couldn't kill him in TWO MINUTES then YOU didn't have enough firepower. He probably got bored with you.

Coming from a gate-camper, I'd say "that old carebear argument" is rather appropriate for you. Perhaps if you did something other than sit at a gate in a gankageddon you might earn a little more respect...but since you don't, go have a seat, chumly.

Sorry, I'm locking this because I can see only ranting, not constructive discussion.
