Would it be possible to re-record Aura's voice with something a bit more lively and cheerful? Because listening to that dull monotone all day makes me wanna fall asleep.

You CAN mute it. But if they add voices, I am for some manly voice...

I like the voice but i'm for anything that adds customization. Seems silly every ship in space has the same voice. She must make a mint on royalties.

if you read any of the chronicles/backstories you'd realize she "does" make a fortune on royalties for use of her voice. I for one am against the change.. because it doesnt matter.. since eve doesnt have sound.

What do you mean it doesnt have sound? If it doesn't matter, why are you against it? |

he means that most people mute sound in eve therefore it isnt worth changing and therefore a waist of CCP's time |

Why waste the devs time to redesign something that doesn't matter in the first place.
And apparently you arent up on the meme's of eve. Having sound on effects the eve client in the form of lag, a majority of players disable sound to prevent this hence the eve not having sound comment.
*edit guy above beat me to it :(

I think its fine as it is and would be against it being "re-recorded", maybe add more voices, but honestly they probably have better things to work on.

We could have a different Aura for each race. That would be Gallente's.

only thing I can sometimes miss is the voice from Outpost (Sierra's game from mid-90'ies) going "Yes Master? How may this most humble servant assist you".... Any comment like that can make any guy ........
But no touchy my Aura!!!!!

I haven't had sound active in eve for ages but really, it might help CCP's subscription rate.
Aura is the first (and only) voice newbies hear upon entering the eve world and she sounds rather cheap and dull.

On a more serious note, agreed. When I first started playing EVE, I was disappointed at the tutorial. It was a voice that was apathetic, muffled, and boring. This made much of her voice difficult to understand if I hadn't been reading the text. Also, the quality of instruction was very lacking. There was no emphasis on ANYTHING.
IMO, the best way to learn anything is with a powerful and commanding, yet clear and simple voice of authority. Aura does not do this in any way. |

I can easily understand why many people think EVE is boring if their first impressions of the game involve Aura in any way.
