Sitting here at my desk, facing a window on the third story of a suburban house, watching the snow come down. it has been snowing all night now, and my garden is covered by more than 30cm of snow.
I have lived in london for nearly 9 years and never seen anything like it, pics may come later if people are interested. |

All buses and 95% of the trains have been cancelled.
Tis madness..am 8 floors up and cant see most of the local area (am in SE london)

In the South East Coast (below London) 100% trains cancelled, epic snow for here, but as they always say "One drop of snow in England and it's a riot" :)

Great Scot this is ridiculous. I'm trying to find out if I can get trained to reading however the National rail enquiries website has crashed due to high demand.
In most areas of Europe I think 30 cm of snow over a long period of time is normal, and they seem to manag well. However in the UK Everything comes to a grinding halt. There is that little infrastructure. If we had this kind of snowfall for a weak people whould starve. |

Ive got atleast a foot and a half here and a nice day off aswell.
Ive never seen it this bad never or should say this good a few days off work would be nice. |

Aye London, so much snow!! School has been shut for me, trains, buses, all closed. Most snow fall in London in 18 years apparently. Going to a snow fight at the park later.

School closed here too, though I only found out after driving in  Should probbly try the phone first next time! Roads weren't too bad, but slow going. Heard all buses cancelled, most tube lines have issues and Pittsburgh won the Superbowl. Still, Gambit has a whole extra day off work, what to do, what to do?

Its up to about 12 inches now and its still snowing. I loled at the morning reports, anyone would think its the end of the world. |

Still no snow just outside outside Cardiff. Had a little last night.
Looks like we get it tomorrow.
I'm guessing however that we are not going to panic like the soft southern media treating it like it the end of the world.

We grind to a hault with less than 1cm of snow. We suck at this! Oh and 1cm of snow in the north east, heavy stuff expected at 10pm till around 3am. My shift starts at midnight so lets see how this goes down

reading calling ....And the snow is pretty heavy here.Most schools are closed,attempted to get to work in surry this morning and just gave up and turned around and came home.BBC News 24 was showing endless pictures of lorries all parked up and going no where...currently working in our Reading office which is virtualy empty

I just loved the radio coverage today. Bunch of southern pansies talking about nothing but snow in London and when the phones opened up, nothing but abuse from the rest of Britain toward the southern fairies skiving off work when the snow comes. The phrase "overcoming adversity" seems to only apply outside the M25?

It is strikingly obvious that you do not live in South East England. If you did you'd realise that one foot here is the equivalent of 10 feet of snow anywhere else.

I live in central california, the last time it snowed here i was 3 years old, im almost 25 now.
At least yosemite is just a couple hours drive if i wanted too and see the HUGE GIGANTIC TREE LOL, also it snows there often.
I like the snow ;_;

Actually the snow has seriously peed me off. I have a way stressful job and i have been carrying my colleagues for months. Finally I get sick and they have to cover for me for once instead of vice versa and what happens? The damn country grinds to a halt and none of them turn up to the office anyway. There truly is no justice!

a few years back here in Colorado we got so much snow we couldnt open our door....and when we finally did we couldnt see our cars in the drive way
needless to say, he kiddies in the area enjoyed a extra week off :P |
