Hello guys,
1. May I ask what does the shield boost bonus of ships helps for? For instance there is 7.5% shield boost amount per level for the Minmatar Battleship Maelstrom, but I am not sure how I can use effectively this bonus, this is why I ask the question.
I guess by "per level" they mean per level of the skill Minmatar Battleships?

The shield boost bonus increases the amount that shield boosters boost. Therefore, it helps active shield tanking (i.e. anything where you're using some form of shield booster).
As with all ship bonuses, "per level" means per level of the skill required to fly the ship. So yes - in this case, the actual bonus you get is (7.5 * (level of minmatar battleship trained))%, e.g. 30% at Minmatar Battleship 4. |

I don't want to be mean, but if you have to ask what "per level" means, you probably shouldn't be flying a BS in combat. |

7,5% shield boost amount per level on your mimi-ship means your "shield booster" will boost 7,5% more per "minmatar battleship skill level"
example: minmatarr battleship skill level 1 will give your "shield booster" extra 7,5%; minmatarr battleship skill level 2 will give your "shield booster" extra 15%; minmatarr battleship skill level 3 will give your "shield booster" extra 22,5%; etc. |

Yes, so at Minmatar BS level 5 a Maelstrom gets 37.5% bonus to the amount of shield your booster gives you (for the same cap expended).
And then you add a shield boost amp to push the bonus even higher. |

If you wanted to further increase this bonus from the maelstrom you can use shield boost amplifiers as the previous poster has said, also available are pirate implants, these particular implants are called Crystal implants.
There are the cheaper less effective Low-Grade Crystal set and the more expensive uber Crystal set (kind of similar to armour sets from Diablo 2 or WoW, they work better with all of them).
if you wanted to boost this even further you can take drugs! I believe the shield boosting enhancing drug is the blue pill there are varying pill srengths requiring some level of Biology. Drugs can however have side effects eg. capacitor penalties, shield boost cycle times,etc
all this stuff hooked up to a golem with lvl 5 marauder is teh sex.
