Use lower res problem solved. Just because you can do 3mil x 3mil res dont mean you should try to play every game in it. lower res= bigger pic= no problems. Eve isnt meant to play in really high resolutions. If it was, you could see the letters on the UI.

I play 1280x1024 on 22 inches monitor and can't read this damn font... granted I sit far away, but seriously, almost 6 years and users still can't decide on the font size? Really? It's 2009 ffs, and yeah, the gui is freaking ancient.
Not gonna quit over this, but this make the whole game experience a lot worse... especially you usually spend hours playing.
And, no offence guys, but I really don't care what my PPI is, I just want to make the font bigger, mkay?
To the guy above: pulling facts out of your ass and making obviously idiotic statements is bad for your karma. Don't do it kido.

I, too, would like some larger fonts for ALL aspects of eve. Including not just the windows, but the HUD as well. My reasoning is different though.. I want my text to be made up of lines >1 pixel in width. I sometimes play Eve on my Samsung 3D HDTV, and it's checkerboard pattern makes the single pixel wide fonts hard to read in 3D.

Yes this is very annoying and i often have to lean forward to the screen to be able to read and that was back on my HP p1230 22" CRT monitor running 1280*1024.
Now im running eve on a single HP LP3065 and im like 30cm from the monitor or to focus my eyes to be able to read which leads to tired eyes very fast. I mean how hard can it be to at least put in the option to have bigger UI text like size 14 or 16?. Also EVE does not want to run in 7680*1600, it either gets 2560*1600 stretched over all three monitors or 2560*1600 on the single middle one (monitor 1). Well when its superstretched its easy to read at least... |

I want a smaller font size that is in bold (running 1280 by 1024 on a 19"). Smaller so I can fit more on the screen, and bold so it is legible. |

Well, they got $15 from me, was going to try this game again to see all the new goodies. But it looks like $15 is all they will ever get.
It's 2009, and I have a 21" monitor, which really isn't all that big.
I'm also disabled, and part of that disability is poor eyesight. Yes, I wear glasses. That the UI font cannnot be changed is something I cannot get over. I will not strain my eyes just to play a game.
Fail, CCCP. Fail. Needless to say I will be reporting this to ablegamers.com. |

eve was originally created when a 17inch monitor was considered big... i guess the gui font sizes hasnt been updated along with the graphics card requirements in apocraphia to cater for the huge 40+ inch screens alot of people now have

I just paid for a month so that I could download the client and try the game again after a 3 year hiatus. I've upgraded to a 30" monitor since I last played.
The font is ridiculously hard to read. All those of you who say it isn't are just kidding yourselves. Note I didn't say that it was impossible to read, just hard. But I don't need the aggravation... there are too many other games to play that don't make it this difficult.
I'll maybe try again when the developers get their act together and fix this. It's too bad, after seeing the new promo video and doing a little reading I thought it would be fun to get back into EVE. Apparently the developers put their time and effort into producing the video rather than working on their UI.

Why are people so resistant to change on this forum? What does it really matter to you that other people want to have larger font sizes? What are you, CCP's paid gatekeepers to try and maintain the status quo to everything as it was back when you first started playing the game in 04?
Sure it's a lot of work. That's CCPs call to make about whether that work is worth investing. Sure there are diminishing returns. That's ALSO CCP's call to make as to whether they think it's worth including larger font sizes.
Far as I can tell, suggestions to get glasses or sit closer to the screen are neither productive nor here nor there.

Lower resolutions or bigger screens = bigger font. No need to break something that works.

I'm in the same boat - 1950 x 1680 resolution or whatever the hell it is, I don't bother reading any text anymore.
First the font is so damned small, second it's painful to read due to very poor font design.

Let's see, we I don't like a change of font:
1) to avoid programming problems font size of all messages will be the same;
2) I don't use 40" screen and the majority of players don't use one;
3) I don't want to get messages that cover half of my screen to make happy the few players that use the above mentioned 40" screen with non-adjustable resolution.
Seem clear enough to me.
You want a change for your convenience, I want the status quo for my convenience.

Man, that resolution is ridiculous. Though I could agree that something could be added to make the fonts a bit larger for our super hi-def brothers.
