Quote from latest CSM meeting minutes:
Quote: Greyscale said that for the average player it was supposed to be played for only a limited amount of time, not forever. CCP sees a big social value in 0.0 and do not want to disrupt them by boosting FW too much, the same mistake they made when they added level4 missions causing 0.0 players to return to hi sec.
Dear CCP, in particulare Greyscale, i don't want to be a class B player. You obviously think (at least you make it look like you think so) that those in 0.0 are the class A player, while HiSec are farmers anyways and FW is not worth your attention. I have some info from people in a large 0.0 alliance that they do the RMT big style, they own some very profitable system for exactly this reason. Every HiSec grinder looks tiny compared to the amounts of isk they make and sell. Why are they considered class A players ? In Faction Warfare we too lose a lot of ships, i lost hundreds of t2 modules, countless BS and BC so far, so I'm curbing the economy not less than someone in 0.0, why am I a class B player, while the 0.0 guy is your favourite customer ? It's not like he pays more money for his sub, nor do we cause your technicians headache with 300 man fleets in FW, like the 0.0 guys do.
You already said it in this CSM meeting, it's easy to boost FW, simply give a desirable unique item exclusively for militia LP shops, which is suitable to create people start doing those missions en masse, providing more targets for pvper, injecting more live into FW areas. Why don't you want to do this, and see us as class B players that shouldn't be cared about so that they become the oh-so-desirable 0.0 players ?

the idea of FW is the stepping stone to 0.0 you get used to the combats and then you have those light defining moments where you actually want to fight to accomplish something important and meaninful. it would be wiser on the part of CCP to do this and show the rewards to 0.0 so that the FW pilot move there

I'm sorry if my English is bad (3rd language) and therefore not easy to read. But i didn't write this post for ******s that are not capable of reading a text with less than 20 lines anyways, so you are not the target audience. If you don't read it, why do you post a reply ?

Yes, this is pretty much it.
Basically, I saw your post. Ten I skimmed it and realized it sounded like a bad episode of a bad MTV reality show.
So, I decided that I would have to berate you for you below-average intelligence.

it is, in fact, a good thing that FW is a mid-tier thing in eve. Its main purpose was to give people targets (which it failed at). it is NOT a source of income, it's an expenditure. Get that out of your mind. |

Edited by: Dirk Magnum on 04/02/2009 23:05:45 FW PvP rewards need to be boosted, not plex rewards. I'm aware that there are good fights that go on in FW, but what do they accomplish other than free PvP? Do they have a strategic objective or some reward that comes out of them? Not really, because there is no meaningful pseudo-sovereignty mechanic for FW. Plex ownership doesn't count.
tbh I sit in my Helios when semi-AFK and watch people speed tank plexes into contested status in Verge Vendor and I wonder what the big deal is.

We're all B class players. Cus there's ALWAYS someone out there who can give you a good beating. If you have 100mil SP in combat skills you could still be PWND in Jita market. If you have 100mil SP in trading you can still get scammed or podded (should you ever undock). You could be THE BEST missionrunner EVER and still get probed down and blown up. It all depends on how you look at it. If you decide that FW doesn't suit your needs you could always try another career. Breathing 0.0 |

But capital blobs are not fun. FW is more fun than 0.0 and will be until they heavily nerf alliances.
But then low sec is where all the real action is at. 0.0 is just a different kind of high sec, dangerous if you have no idea what you are doing, but perfectly calculable and predictable once you do, you just have to buy more clones. That's not harder, that's just more inconvenient.
You are all a bunch of nubs and carebears.

I would agree with you on the point that CCP employees should try, and, avoid controversial statements that would appear to divide EVE community into preferred camps. Especially if they are basing it on their own play-style with the "real" characters.
That notwithstanding, what information do you have exactly that implicates 0.0 alliances in RMT activities? And, why are you just implying it, rather than come out and say it? Although some of us might agree with the overall point you are making, garnering support for your cause is undermined by baseless innuendo, and should be avoided as much, as previously suggested, as CCP employees should avoid splitting up the community into preferred camps.
So, if you do have an accusation to make about 0.0 alliances, be specific and make it, and tell us that you also filed a petition. If not, please do not make sweeping statements that would only serve to the detriment of getting objective picture of things.

I don't need an evaluation of my posts by an obvious moron, who judges people before even having read their posts. Sure, my post might look somewhat dumb because it's written in poor English. I'm not from a English-speaking country, i don't use English at work and the school-time, where i learnt English, is quite a few years ago now, so i think i have a sufficient excuse for my bad English. Unlike other MMOs eve does not offer the possibility to make posts in my native English, so if you like devalue anyone with bad English, you silence a big part of the Eve online community. If you at least had a good point with your post, I'd not care, but you posted only crap and admitted that you even didn't read the OP before doing this. Yet you arrogate the right to yourself to judge the intelligence of someone. This proves your ignorance, intolerance and your lack of intelligence alike. Eve forums would be better off without you and your useless comments.

actually dude i am not complaining about your english just look at jenny spitfire, i am merly flaming about the stuff in your post... which is crap ... the forums would be better off with out people like you thinking what is best for eve when you have only been in it yourself for such a small amount of time. you can poast you comments but you dont need to go all defence when someone doesnt believe in what you do
you are the pure ignorance that you portray the forum posters here ?

By strating this topic youi became a b class player - no matter what you do in eve. Cope with it or quit.
FW is meant to bring players to 0.0. It's not meant to be a substitute. Adapt and stay or leave to 0.0.....or go back carebearing. |

erm, risk reward?
In 0.0 the rats are much meaner, the missions are much harder and the players are bloodthirsty psychotics that will bend you over for no good reason and laugh as they pew pew months of your hard work into oblivion in a matter of minutes (sometimes seconds ).
In Empire there is safety around every corner and you must go looking for trouble to find it.
I could see a system that grants additional reimbursement for fighting on behalf your empire if a ship is lost in FW combat, but is it so eay to determine that?
I dunno, the whole thing is dubious at best, but I can at least see the point about FW. Can't make all of empire a gold mine though.. then there would be much less reason to venture into 0.0.
Frankly, 0.0 is where the game is really played. EVE isn't just a farm fest.. it is a battlefield on which mighty alliances struggle for wealth and power.

Safety in empire??? Maybe if you are in an npc corp or in a very small corp, else you get war deced continously by merc and griefer corps, in the end grinding to replace ships that you lose during wars.
Highsec can prove almost as dangerous as 0.0 for player corps but not as profitable as 0.0.
