Hi guys i am interested in what you guys think is the best PVP setup for the Thorax
I have my fitted with:
Hi
5 Named heavy afocal lasers
Mid
MWD
Sensor Booster
cap recharger
Low
RCU
Cap RElays
tracking enhancers

Lasers 
Why on earth lasers ?
It's not like the Thorax is swimming in its cap is it ?
Tried 200mm rails or better still, ion/electron blasters ?

i fitted the lasers because they kick ass.
Wreckiing doing 350 now!
first had the 250 mm rails but they didn t hit anything

go fly a maller, it has 5 turrents and lazer bonus
the thorax has hybrid bonus

try fitting 5 medium neutrons, they only have a short range so youll need to get in quickly with a mwd leaving the other two midslots for a jammer and webby
(why you dont have a warp jammer fitted i dont know)
low youll probibly need some rcu's / pdu's to get everything to fit a few damage mods
and dont forget your 8 oagres.
enough of these beasts can take out a bs no probs (try to use a dual mwd setup)

Also drop the sensor booster and put a webby or scrambler on.

sorry but that is not a PvP setup ^^
you cant hold them, so youll never get a kill
just do the 5 ions setup and kill them with mass dronies and blasters

5 miner II's
(3)10 mn afterburners
some rcu's and cap relays
25k megacyte in the cargo!

Hmm, thats the wierdest thing Ive seen in a while.....

MWD, scrambler, webber
tch 2 armor, 2 hardners, 2 cap relays.
drone bay: belly full of wasps/pretors/ogres
Might have to go with named guns for cpu reasosns.
Work with a jammer or a dampener to let you get in close then you do the killing.

anyway, i run 3 modal neutrons, 2 regulated ions
web, 10 mn ab, cap recharger
medium polarized, membranes (you decide) and i think i needed one rcu with the three modals, cant remember
it's a skill heavy setup, but they hit very hard with am....
dont be afraid of takin hits, you might get all the way down to 20% armor, but more than likely they will go down before you........

As a suggestion, take advantage of the Thorax's bonus to hybrid turret damage, and work on the drone skills so you can use 8 heavy drones (forthcoming changes excepted). The Thoraxes strengths are it's turret damage output and drone bay. Possibly something like:
Hi: 5 Ion Blasters (Uranium to save a little cap, Antimatter if you don't need the saving)
Mid: 1x MWD, 1x Warp Scrambler, 1x Cap Recharger II
Low: 2x Armour Hardeners, 1x Small Armour Repairer II, 1x Medium Armour Repairer II, 1x Cap Relay.
Drone Bay: 8x Heavy Drones (Wasps/Ogres)
I don't think as it is, that this would work outright, cap recharge is going to be an issue as it is, but the main idea, is to do more damage than the other can take as fast as possible. The Thorax will not out-tank a Maller or Moa, but it can outdamage the both of them, so just don't try to fight a fight of attrition, it won't win.
Other items which might be useful are a damage mod, more cap recharge, tracking enhancer always useful, and maybe note Electron blasters as a substitute for the Ion Blasters (better tracking, less cap usage). Skills to note are Medium Hyb Turret, Surgical Strike, Gallente Cruiser, Energy Management, Energy Systems Operation.

maybe some stabs for behind eenmy line work and some rcu's.
Web them so they cant get out of your range and keep em warp scrammbed since your gonan be up so close.

Lo: 1600mm NanoFiber Plating, Med Armor Rep II, 1x Cap Relay, 2x Damage Mod
You might also be able to drop the Cap Relay for another Damage Mod or whatever else you want :D 3200 armor with my current skills, around 3500 or so with hull upgrades 5, and using a tungsten 1600 you can get over 4000 armor, even though you go slightly slower.
