As noted above, I'm experiencing everything everyone else has with respect to scene2/SM3 etc.
Nothing new to add except that the bugs are consistent- no sun, no planet textures, borked skybox when using the system/galaxy map, all the missing effects/sounds etc. |

Same here, GeForce FX5900XT, fitting screen is completely white rather than transparent, and as I already said FPS is very very low.
Was going to post a bug report but didn't have time last night. |

Edited by: Chigger Troutslayer on 11/02/2009 13:31:51 Running a Geforce FX5500 here. With Scene2 and SM2 everything looked pretty borked. Also lag was very bad while trying to buy stuff off the market and use skill queue. I was in 0.0 with 3 in system so not a busy system either. Hope it gets better because as is now I would rate it as unplayable.
Other specs: 2Ghz Celeron D and 3GB of RAM.

Running C2D E6600 @ 3.0GHz, 8800GTS 640Mb, 4Gb ram (winxp tho), WinXP SP2, onboard sound, latest nvidia drivers:
-HDR on, low bloom -Scene2 on, 3.0high, low shadows
It's laggy and sluggish, indeed planetary rings cover the planets, all planets have a 'glow' sphere around them. When in an asteroid belt, my tempest wings get obscured by the roids, little z-axis issue I reckon.
Also crashed a number of times, log server showed missing graphics (bug reported).
All the stuff above does not necessarily reflect my corp, my alliance or even me.. Drone guide.. |

so basically it's just in some very select few systems that for some reason haven't been given high quality backgrounds?
just like some of the stargates still use the old models? (though a much older issue im assuming)

As performance dropped waaay low (5fps as opposed to the usual 50-something - was zoomed in all the way, zooming out helped a little) in an exploration site I just visited, the camera seemed to stutter when looking at moving NPCs, kind of like "having trouble to keep up".
This was with Scene2 enabled obviously, GF8600GT 512mb, C2D E8200 with 2gb RAM on XP SP3, latest drivers and all. HDR enabled on "low" setting, Shaders set to "HI".
So, yeah, whatever happened to performance? ____________

Same happened to me without scene 2 in sansha anomaly. More or less normal framerate, then 'something happens' and stuff drops to sub 1 fps for 10 or so secs and then drags itself up for approx 1 min and then drops back again. Have not yet submitted bugreport over it as I want to do it properly with logserver and stuff (ie will take a bit more time). Ie this problem might not be scene 2 specific.

Do you have a small monitor? Also, you might have a small gamma value set on the monitor, witch makes everithing darker and hides all the defects.
Gradient banding is extreme for the dark tones (dark blue, green, purple) and almost invisible for the light color tones (yellow, orange, red)

Question 1: with the new renovated content are we going to see normal sized gorgeous planets? Because right now, the planets are dwarfed. I feel strange when hovering over a gas giant @ 12000 km, because the planet looks and feels like a moon. If possible, it will be nice to have them normal sized since they are landmarks in every solar system.
Question 2: Same thing for stars. Are we going to see the solar system star getting smaller as we traveling away from it? Something like huge on Mercury's orbit and very, very small on Pluto's orbit?

We've got a SISI / wine thread down in the linux section, but I'll throw my report here as well, as it appears that wine + eve premium is seeing the same stuff as the windows native issues.
Just for info if wanted:
---- Version 6.10.77718 /wine 1.1.14
I'm not sure this build is worth reporting bugs on tbh. GD section has tons of gfx issues and such with scene2 that I'm seeing variants on with wine as well.
If I turn off scene 2, we get what looks like traditional trinity "premium" with a few additional lighting effects. roids appear to be the old models.
Turning on scene2 gives strange fps spikes, planets that glow like the sun, rings around planets not occluded by the planets, billboards 10x to large (and white outs when near them.
Changing shader models requires a restart. (it works, but strange artifacting occurs without a restart.)
The one constant at this point is that the client doesn't crash. I've yet to ctd with this build regardless of gfx issues.
Sound...in and out. Odd delays in space.
Oh, and no matter what I do, no warp tunnel effects whatsoever. (scene2 on OR off).
I'm gonna wait for the next build before reporting anything else. This actually feels like an "alpha" rather than "beta" in some ways.
My opinion: the new ship fitting screen....blows ass. Sorry, just goofy looking and terribly unintuitive. The old screen, while somewhat clunky in ways....was CLEAR as to slots/loadouts and info. ...sometimes cute(r) doesn't mean bette(r). mkay? ---------

Just wanted to share some feedback. Me and my corpmates noticed a big FPS inpact in the new asteroid fields. FPS on top notch GPUs drop to 30 FPS in EMPTY asteroid fileds. Please optimize asteroid fields graphics or downgrade a bit guys. We know It looks fancy and stuff but do You really wonna make mining even less enjoyable with this FPS hit? Now even 1 on 1 PVP in asteroid fields will be laggy (I know LAG has nothig to do with it, but You know what I mean). Please reconsider the asteroid fields one more time. Thank You for Your time. Keep up the good work!

loading station environments causes my card to go nuts, and the fan to go in to overdrive, card is more than capable of handling this, its doing 265 fps in station; just dont sound healthy...
will try drivers...
EDIT - new drivers dont help, being in station scares me...
This!
My GTX 280 is usually set to 60% fan... My screen got stuck on loading station environment, I went to get a drink my card was at 90c (New record, only other time it got that high was when I was running folding@home and turned the fan to 25%)
Turned the fan to auto and jumped to 100%.
But scene2 and everything else works find for me (Once I turned dustfields off)

The GTX 280 seems to always run incredibly hot in station environments. It's easy for mine to hit 80c with the fan running 100%. Outside the station I don't have this problem and it runs a lot cooler.

Lols on everyone reading what CCP Tenitigo wrote about what was missing lols :)
Everything is running ok for me except for a couple of gitters for 2 secs when moving around some of the objects; ie. asteriods. I haven't noticed any major FPS drop on any scene yet.
Icons for ships need the ship models to be bigger. I have more than 50 ships in my hangar and its difficult to see which one is which, especially the different ships with the same hulls.
New models look great, cans, asteriods etc. Although asteriod fields look rather strange and sparse (the look like broken clay with embedded diamontees lightly splattered over the rim of an invisable dinner plate) although the individual roids look nice, albeit some look wet. -Zooming in on some ships in station seem to leave some textures looking slightly blurred compared to the same ship in the same station on tranq, but someone else would need to confirm this. -When undocking from stations the camera is sometimes placed from within the ship looking out of the model, looking from the interior of the ship out.
Planets and Moons are missing textures as CCP Tenitigo has said, but the level of HDR reflecting of the planets is too high and makes the planets look unreal - hopefully this is because they are missing textures to tone it down.
Billboards look great and are more inline with the tech you'd expect from such advanced civilizations.
Fitting Screen gives you a good view of your baby and ship spinners can now fit and spin at the same time , although i think people will want to be able to toggle between the new and the old fitting screens as we saw with the module timer graphics.
Station's interiors dont look any different to me.
PS. Thanks for letting us play Tenitigo!

Can someone tell me which option (premium/scene/whatever) will be the final version that hits TQ on mar10? Lowest GFX one if possible please.
Premium + scene2 + shader 2 low?
O yea and my FPS went from 50-60TQ to 200 on sisi with premium turned off. But when i have to use scene2 it went down to 15-20 :X.

Edit: Don't know if the new planet-textures were supposed to make it in the latest patch, but I didn't see any differnce from trinity.
