The t3 cruisers still arent done yet, but i still figured i'd play with it. as you may have guessed from the fanfest, the 'subsystems' make the ship look different, by adding bits on. the subsystems arent fitted to the ship as such, they are put on it when you 'assemble' the ship. a window pops up and asks you to select subsystems, which you must have in your items hanger.
here's some screenshots:
Skill Reqs
Screenshot1 (also shows fitting window) screenshot2 Screenshot3 Screenshot4 Screenshot5
5 high slots 2 mids 5 lows
(thats still bugged, when ccp finish it, that setup will have base 3, then +2 and -1 from subsystems so 4 midslots.) i'm flying around with 2 atm xD. and note - epix 460m/s base speed. 1 extender = 6k shield. :D
Also tried the new NPC's. 6 of them broke my carriers tank. and i was being repped by 2 other carriers. comment from dev said that should be suitable for a 10 man subcap gang. *shrug*

Markets everywhere are broken. It's a DB issue they are working to resolve.

Sounds to me like they are balancing them based on the GM Polaris frigates. Heard that two BS vaporized a dual repped Kronos.
If they are going to be that hard, T3 cruisers will be as or more expensive than dreads and getting parts for them something that only large corporations can even hope to do.
We get 2500 added systems which no-one will have any interest in beyond the first few weeks and CCP will forced back to the drawing board .. c'est la vie

I like the "level V in a basic ship handling skill for each subsystem" approach to the skills. I fear they'll soften those before release, but it makes sense and I hope it stays. ------------------ Ironfleet.com |

that is already pretty soft to begin with, those skills are a must for any serious pilot anyway, imho they might increase those until release, certainly not soften

So if the new NPCs had to be spawned on sisi, does that mean the wormholes have been promoted to test server yet?

The skill requirements are really low right now I wouldn't be surprised if they were raised... My alt char just finished cruiser v and he needs a lot more training to get into a HAC/HIC/Recon/Logistics T2, yet he could just train these rank 1 subsystem skills and be in a T3 earlier(though it would be foolish) |

they are low? they aren't that low. I hope they don't go crazy.
in fact I hope they get some sort of bonus to overheating, so it takes a long time to use them right but you can fly/ steal them easily. |

You're right, but...
In my experience there are a lot of "non-serious" pilots in EVE. Especially, there is a large contingent who argue against training anything to Level V, saying it's "not worth it". I know I was slow to get all my Rank 1 ship handling skills maxed, until my losses in Faction Warfare drove home the necessity.
As for increasing before release, I've been through a couple of major patches/expansions going back to (I think) Red Moon Rising, and the typical pattern seems to me to be to "soften" skill requirements between testing and final release. This happened with salvagers and the last probing revamp, to name two examples I can remember. I can't recall them ever adding requirements after testing, tho I suppose it must have happened somewhen. |

Skill requirements won't mean anything if the price tag is in the billions. T2 will still be the mainstay of everyday life.
They can of course balance it by tweaking the wormholes and their aliens. No word on the price of T3 books either, could be huge :) |

I think there's a fair chance the primary (or only) source of the books will be wormhole exploration. In which case, the prices will be very very high indeed for the first little while. |

The training time for a T3 strategic cruiser is longer than that of any T2 cruiser - IMHO this is appropriate for something that is essentially a different option from T2. Also, you're going to need to have the relevant skills to fit your own T3 cruiser, i.e. if I have a specialised cloaking drone Proteus, I'm probably going to need a few high drone and EW/cloak skills to actually make it work properly.
End of the day, with T3 ships they're trying to encourage newer players to think more personally about what they need to train for their ships, and if that means that more experienced players can fly lots of variations effectively, so be it - they'll still be awesome ships :3 |

i can confirm the kronos went down, it took 3.8mil damage, he burned out his own reps, i had 2 capital armor xfers and 2 capital shield transfers on him and overloaded, when his own reps burned out, the 6k hp per 5 seconds i was giving him was insufficient to keep him alive.
just a fyi, thats like being shot by a 10 man battleship gang. he had maybe 5 NPC's shooting him. |

LOL - that kind of DPS is completely overpowered. So much for my idea of going in and doing these on my own or with one other corpmate...
Why on earth they would make it so utterly impossible for smaller groups is beyond me.. I guess I'm supposed to go back to high-sec and do the easier ones instead?
Because level 5 missions worked so well right; all those corps banding together to do them.... Or not.

i would guestimate that since many poeple in the test server were there to test the strength of the new NPC's, that the ones the devs spawned were prolly close to that "total hell death" thing they had mentioned before--in other words, in the HARD WH space, there will be those guys to deal with--top of the food chain. The rest of them probably wont be that serious..
they prolly spawnd the hard ones just so they wouldnt have to spawn more 30 seconds later because ya killed them all.
and ECM.

Probing for them required Astrometrics-V due to a bug, and those who did find anything reported that they could not warp to the result.

Tengu combinations
I did 20 or so of the now possible 243 last night, might do more later, some of these look decidedly WEIRD, like the one that has a Drake "nose" and Harbinger style "body" :D
On the other hand, few of the combinations look damn nice, I havent checked the stats on them so those might not be "optimal" builds :p
