Mining mechanics are definitely not broken, they are just aged.

Na, thats not the point.
Many people hoped to see changes, that make mining more interresting/interactive.

also... add a feature to change the mining lasers colors :D
yellow light show is kinda boring...
ps. make rats spown based on mining laser cycle completions like my rokh spowns 8 spowns of rats when my lasers tick, plezkaythxbye o/

There has been talk for quite a while about having to scan for a systems asteroid belts to mine. Since it wasn't added with the 'Industrialists expansion (that QR was toted to be) then hopefully the Exploration expansion. (Meaning this one)
QR was suppoesed to be the industrilaist's dream expansion ... just got the Orca. I like the ship, I do, but it doesn't make mining much more interesting. (Easier, not interesting) |

the orca is just a expencive can, sure u get to use up to 3 gang links, only 2 being useful and 1 tractorbeam and a few drones, other then a way to prevent 0.7+ space can flipers, it is useless unless its a fleet of ships where the links will makeup for the pilots mining output. orca + 1 miner < 2 miners but... orca + 30 miners > 31 miners and i dont think any alliance runs with 30+ miners in highsec just for veldspar :P
please note i didnt include hualers cuz well, they dont really add to the mining yeild as to just make the orca pilot just /afk~naptime while the fleet jumps him to the different belts and hual into his corp hanger and hualers take from there and tug it away.
if the orca had highsec mineral compression then it would be more worth it, other then that its just a fancy large scale highsec carbear super can that has little drones protecting it
oh and i forgot, it can carry industrial ships and mining ships that are riged... maybe to replace the noobs ship that shoots the pirate that is orbiting the orca trying to open the corp hanger array?

the asteroids have all had been renovated with apocrypha however there are no mechanic changes in this expansion for mining. It is however high on our wishlist so any ideas you have are welcome in the features and ideas forum.

@all who mentioned the Orca
Hell yeah, the Orca was a great addition but I expected more then 1 ship as the industrial expansion. So I hoped, that their soon will be more.
@Chronotis will do, if a I get hit by an inspiration |

*shrug* orca is used in 0.0 aswell. cba to use the rorq's siege mode, with jumping, heavy water and all those "complications" :o the cycle bonus is cute, but it's more about the range.
but yes, you get your new roid graphics. and im sure, w-space is for you guys to. so your "gieeeev!" demands have been met, no? |

the asteroids will move around as if you they were actualy orbiting a planet and if you stay in one spot you'll eventualy get hit and there would be like a damage/blown up ship (if it was a mining barge the orca/rorqual would take armor or hull dmg but thats it) I don't know but just an idea to make it interesting. Oh and think about all the dead macro miners! Win Win situation amirite or amirite lol |

Is this what is happening now on Sisi? Or is this just a suggestion of yours?
I think moving asteroids, altough interesting, would drive mineral prices through the roof, since hauling/mining would be that much more difficult.

From what I noticed, all Astros look the same and are only different in size. Are different Asteroid models planned or is intended that all rocks look now like veldspar?

Ha, the belts looks like fragments of cement buildings collected after an explosion; they no longer look like real asteroids. I'm all in favor of mixing the looks for belts up a little but this is ridiculous.

I call bullsh*t. Proof or STFU. I've done EXTENSIVE testing on Sisi on most things, including dynamic shadowing in belts and roids do NOT move. Heck, they don't even rotate like the old ones.
Why, oh WHY did you remove that CCP? :( ----- Why doesn't anyone ever read the forums before posting?

I noticed this too, all high sec ore is using the same model (haven't looked at the low sec rocks yet). It's a very well made model that looks completely different from different angles, but it's still the same rock over and over again weather it's veldspar, scordite, pyroxers, etc... All the different roids should have different models, or at least skins. |
