It's always closed when i come to home from work, around 10pm USA time, and it opens at like 5am when i'm leaving to job or whatever.
Why are europeans the ones whose times fit more for the test server? NOt fair.

Well... It is only supposed to be down for a few hours each day, but due to some issues with the Apocrypha code, the devs have trouble getting the server up again after downtime.
AND
They hate you

That explains the message we all got yesterday:
"The test server is going in 60 minutes down since Nifan will be returning soon and we need to shut down before he can log on."

I am sooo doing that next time we have to take down Sisi
But in all seriousness the test server is on a schedule that fits Europe better because that is where we are located, if it goes down in the night then nobody is here to fix it. ------------------

I'm getting really tired of this too. The test server is NEVER up in US time zone, I get at most 10 minutes before it's downtime and then it never comes back up.
If the expansion is still THIS effing buggy less than a month before release there is no way in hell it's going to be stable enough to release on 3/10.

Nothing wrong here, we pay more (same ammount of Ç as $, while Ç cost more) so we should get something extra

I expect every new version has been this buggy a month before release. IIRC we've never had access to the beta version on Sisi this early before.
Besides, while a lot of these bugs might seem like showstoppers from the user's perspective, none of them look like the kind of thing that indicates underlying issues in the codebase. Having seen the current state of Sisi, I don't see anything that would suggest it won't be ready in a month.

Every patch gets relesed on sisi about 2 weeks to 1 month before relese so the comunity can give it a good going over. I will have to admit that this is the buggiest i remember a patch being but then it is also towards the longer end of the testing time frame. On top of that it should be kept in mind this expansion normally would have been due in the summer so the development period is shorter than normal if they manage to get it out on time it will be very impressive.

Easy fix for the OP. 1.Quit your job. 2.Sign up for classes at your local college. 3.Apply for grants and scholarships 4.????? 5. profit.

Umm.. then why does Sisi go offline at 00:00 GMT? That argument makes much more sense for TQ's daily downtime of 11:00 GMT.
On a side note, 00:00 is 16:00 for me (west coast US) and it has been coming back up at some point during the night so the only time I've been able to log on is for a few minutes before work each morning.

He's saying that if the server crashes for some reason during the night, then they won't be able to fix it before they get back at work in the morning, which is why the scheduled server downtime is in the night. As far as I know, this process is more or less fully automated, so it does not need a dev to stay up late to babysit the server. However, due to the problems with the Apocrypha code and the effects this has on the startup (making it go into an activation loop) it does not start as it is supposed to, which is why you americans get very little if any time to test-play.
If the whole process is automated, then there's absolutely no reason for CCP to plan for a dev to sit there for about an hour staring at a screen doing nothing, so they place the downtime in the night.
Am I right, Gangleri? Or do you all just really really hate Nifan?

Oh I get that (Software developer and aero engineer in real life), It's just the way he worded it that threw me off.
And it seems like if there's a bug preventing it from autostarting, that would be a high priority thing to fix before deploying the code to TQ.

Because it's either the USA can get on it but the rest of the world can't or visa versa. So it seems the USA is collateral. Sorry but you just have to blame geology, or CCP. Your choice really.

If any bug would have to be fixed before going live on TQ it would have to be THAT bug, indeed :D And probably the stuff they accidentially didn't put in the patch, but still told us to test ;P
Speaking of patches, does anyone here know when we can expect the next patch for SiSi?
