there is no problem with that 707kb file because its a download manager get a fresh tranquility copy download the 707kb file from the eve site and run it then it downloads the 1300mb patch and installs it.

The download manager doesnt seem to be working.. it complains about BITS
The BITS service runs ok though...
This issue is with the 75883 to 79298 and 77718 to 79298 patch.
Download BITS Download Manager it works. Download it and istall then run the patch again.

EVE sound is quite useless thing atm. If we could configure what sounds to play... Like we want to hear warnings "cargo full", "autopilot deactivated", "you are getting hit" (once per new agressor) and switch all repeatable noises off.
I'm not asking, for things, like "electronic warfire warnings, local channel reds warnings :-)" becasue its different topic.
We want just to select what of existing sounds will play and what will not.

I cant get the download to work even with a DL manager. I just re did my test server and got the live to test patch and getting the same error it starts to download for abotu 2 seconds then the "This program has stopped working window " pops up.
Any ideas or a link to the full download of the test server build?

Sorry, no; unless I'm blind, that's a link to a very large patch file, that is applied to an existing build.
Since patching continues to fail for some of us, we're wishing we could download a fully-patched build of 79288, similar to the complete build of 75883 that new players download. There's no such link in the first post, nor anywhere that I'm aware of. ------------------ Ironfleet.com |

I'm having the same issue. Downloaded the 77718 -> current patch and ran it. Selected my root EVE (Sisi) folder and as soon as it starts downloading / installing the patcher crashes. It doesn't mention anything about BITS either.

I downloaded the 75883 build of the premium client, added the /server switch to the link and started it, it says a patch of some 1250MB is available and I say ok, I get the 700kb file and run it but then it stops cold saying the BITS service isnt running (it starts it on its own if its not and even if it is, still same failure message). There doesnt seem to be any information about where to "manually download".
I disabled a buttload of services to secure my XP install but the patcher only complains about BITS and with that running it still complains. CCP blooper easily fixed I hope. I dont want to download more crappy ("bits download manager"?) software just to make one game work.

For goodness' sake CCP, you have built an incredibly complex game over the years, and gone through umpteen upgrades to Sisi, and players have gone though an equal amount of patching using a specific format.
Suddenly, we are supposed to go through MORE gyrations with this BITS software????
Surely CCP, with all your programming capabilities, one dev can spend some time sorting it out so we can use the same process we did just last week? You want more Beta testing before March 10th? It would be in your best interest to have that dev fix this problem asap.

I have upgraded the classic version to premium and patched with the test patch. After to have logged in perfectly few times, since yesterday I can't log in. The logging procedure stops at "Entering Station" progress bar, with a black screen on the thackground.
I have set/unset the checkbox of the introduction, I have downloaded and installed new invidia drivers, but nothing appears to be changed.

Go into the graphics settings, turn on Scene 2, then disable dust clouds, (then turn off Scene 2 if you want). This will fix the problem. ---

not at all Most of us on SiSi appreciate the rock and the hard place the devs are stuck in between. I am on SiSi as I am a huge fan of Eve and even when I am upset when patches go bad I do still appreciate the hard work put in by all at CCP ====================

We were promised this beautiful new partical system for so long now, and is it me or do some of the effects look worse, or maybe not worse but such less creative than orrigonally intended. During fanfest we saw this partical system in action, displaying a beautiful nosferatu effect, a read glowing cloud mass that ingulfed and followed the ship around in arealistic way. Now we get an "improed" graphical representation of armor repping, shield buffering and boosting and other things. But it seems to me these effects look like something that would be coming out of a fantasy stle game with swords and magic spells.
I know the finished product of apocrypha is still far off from completion but please, is this what we will be getting? True there actually are impacts now, and more accurate mussle flashes but they are being displayed overzealously, while armor repping looks for lack of a better word, kind of 2d'ish and not to extravigant for what this engine is capable of. external effects like sensor boosting, shield buffering, and shield boosting need to be more promouned. warping looks.... well.. kind of horrible. you can not display fast movement by making a slowly moving energy wave. the current game one looks better becuase it actually makes the environment feel like it is moving an an ftl speed. jumping looks impressive I will say. the actual impact of munitions on a target looks better, but needs to be tweaked.
i normally dont complain about progression. We are overhauling an engine that at thi point is quite old, but in all its glory there are many holes still. some of the objects we have created have so many particles that they break records for this type of an engine and they look good from distance. but the moment you get remotely close to the object, they look worse than before. the detail level of all ships is the same which is not good. ina way it is done for a specific reason, to take a ship that is twice the size of another, you would need to make the dat for it twice as alrge to keep the same detail per section ratio, which can not be done when you think about the size of a station versus a frigate. understandable. however these effects that are now visible ont he test server, are truely the finished prouct, I ask is there a way I can keep some of the old ones. Becuase to be honest i prefer the green mist spewing from my armor as it gets repaired,... not just a simple color variation that lokos like something from 1995. this engine is capable of amazing things. I think we should be using them.

On the other hand. content wise. This is impressive. Please seed the gallante defensive subsystems so I can play around with the proteus. The idea of tech III is genius and I approve whole heartedly. content wise eve is not lacking at all and is only getting better. please seed everything so we can work with the proteus and give our opions about the current fitting capabilities, and balance issues. also one of the offensive modules should be set ot have a 50m3 drone bandwidth. a gallantean cruiser without at least 4 hammerhead IIs? please... that is just not right. although a 6 guned cruiser is something we dont have so that module is definetly an awsome new treat to get. keep up the good work there

I misunderstood the request. I thought you meant a direct patch download vs the auto client downloaded patch. I would be surprised if CCP did this right now since it keeps changing every few days.

Maybe it is a regional thing. I was able to get Gallente Defensive subsystems in the pvp test system (FD-? can't recall right now). This was in the second to last patch. I haven't checked in the latest patch since I was stuck with a black screen in station this morning (and right now I am currently stuck at work and can't undock and fly home for a few more hours.)

i cannot gain access to the test server, it says build incompatible i have build 6.10.79298. anyone able to link the new patch as i have failed miserably to locate it and what i did downloag (over a gig) was incompatable as well for some reason many thanks

Confirming that Gall Defensive subsystems are still unavailable, and I'm encountering a black screen trying to load the station, no sign of dust thingy or Scene 2 in options.

I'm posting here in the hope someone can assist (CCP?). I've been on SISI a lot of times since innitial patch and until recently I've been able to do so. Since the latest release however, I have been unable to get past the "entering station" phase of logging on with any char.
I've patched fine and so I am running compatible releases etc... I've cleared cache and in fact, I've toasted my install about three times today alone and re-downloaded and re-patched each time accordingly.
So as a last attempt before I give up, I'm asking in here for any ideas.

I resolved this by deleting the entire sisi relevent data stucture within the AppData path for the USER profile on the machine.

Hi.
I just donwloaded the latest patch for SiSi and EVE Premium Version (Win). When I try to log on, the server status is "unknown". When I try to log on Tranquility with my main EVE installation there are no such issues.
Is the SiSi server down?
