As promised, we have a new version of Apocyrpha on Singularity for you to play with. And with this new version, comes new toysà but no sound. No one hears you scream in space! DonÆt worry, sound will be back soon, and thatÆs soon without the quotes.
There is a known issue with some graphics cards/driver combinations which may result in a crash and/or strange visuals. Those who experience this should:
ò Report the bug, with all normal information and in particular their graphics card type and driver version number û but do not close bug report ò Give a detailed escription of the issue and screenshots if possible ò Update their drivers at either http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us or http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html ò Try again ò Fill in info about whether the issue was resolved or not, and additional description and screenshots if not resolved
There is an issue in some configurations in that the game starts up with a black screen. If this occurs to you, you should:
ò Hit ESC to go to the menu ò On the äGeneral Settingsô tab, remove the tickbox next to äShow Introduction movie on next startupô ò Quit the game ò Restart the client ò If this is still an issue, file a report
We look forward to hearing your latest thoughts on this new version. Post away!

I thought you could only patch from tranq to this, or 77718(prev SiSi patch) to this ====================

the thing is that the downloaded patch is the wrong size and thereby end up giving a data corruption error... and the 77718 patch is nowhere to be found...

look in the cache folder of your test client and double click the 'bad' download (this may need to be renamed to *.exe). THis then downloads the big one. |

Edited by: Master Corruptor on 14/02/2009 01:34:43 All the ''bad'' files are the same size... 705kb
and renaming them into .exe didn't do much good either...
got the same error as before =)

Had a problem with patching normally from the eve signon page. (The 705k file was reported as corrupt)
Downloaded and ran the patch from the website, with a very slow ( < 500kps ) download of the main file, but everything came through w/o any issues that way.
Will actually get into it on Saturday.
BTW - very nice image on the signon screen |

there is no problem with that 707kb file because its a download manager get a fresh tranquility copy download the 707kb file from the eve site and run it then it downloads the 1300mb patch and installs it.
hope this helps

To patch you have to run it from the desktop or where ever you have downloaded it. It is not the patch, it is a new automated downloader.

As soon as the DL manager starts to run it stops working, and Windows closes the program. Doesn't matter if I "run" it from the EVE-O site or DL it to a folder and then run it. As soon as I select the folder to patch and click 'download' or whatever, it just stops working and shuts down.

The download manager doesnt seem to be working.. it complains about BITS
The BITS service runs ok though...
This issue is with the 75883 to 79298 and 77718 to 79298 patch. |

Mine kept crashing right after i started the patch, I cycled JUST the BITS Service (it was already in a 'started' state) and then the patch ran like a champ

So, setup Singularity with Apocry... (I can't spell it *g*)
First: It runs.
Second: Framerate droped massively against the current Tranquility version. I only have 2-3 frames where I have usually 15 frames at Tranquility.
I already filed some bug reports on non-textured asteroids, non-showed-Hulk-models and the framerate-loss. Hopefully these are only peanut bugs ;)

As I posted in other threads earlier this week, on the first Apocrypha build my basic low grade Dell B130 laptop (with an integrated video card that simulates shader model 2 support via software functionality) could not run well with Scene 2 enabled. It looked horrible and I had many graphics issues. At one point I heard a weird "click" and my whole laptop went dead in one second and would not turn on for about a half hour. Now with this new build, I wouldn't say it is perfect, but it is 1000% better. I can see "premium graphics" on ships (albeit slightly less shiny) and I can actually see the stars, planets, etc in space. I can click around and move and the only lag I experienced was when warping to a station in FD where there were 12 other ships outside the station. I only played around for about 20 min this morning, and I flew around doing nothing intensive, but I really had no major issues at all. The inside of the station looked ugly but at least I could see my ship this time.
Now I know CCP was not waiting with baited breath to hear that my low grade 2.5 year old laptop can run Apocrypha, but I wanted to post this to let them know that whatever they did in between the 2 builds made a huge difference. Also to post as hope to others that those of us that cannot afford new computers will probably still be able play in March. Especially if they keep tinkering under the hood and fix the other issues I am reading about.

Edited by: Bethulsunamen on 15/02/2009 16:56:32 Now i got that problem some other peeps had earlier, with the patch downloading ingame fine, but then giving me an error that its invalid or corrupt or whatever, and it goes on to download it again, for eternity, always corrupt.
Also, when i try to use the .exe downloaded manually, the installer crashes. I rarely have these issues. Sigh

The T3 training was quick, if you have Cruiser 5. No Gallente Defense subsystems available in the Forge though. Still haven't figured out the probe/scanner changes, I like the way the probes follow you around but I cant warp to the results of setup a filter. I assume those are coming. What does training susbsystem levels and ships levels get you. No text for the bonuses etc for ships or subsystems.
Great work overall, the new fitting screen is cool.
