These new Amarr Stargates are a bit of a joke, right? I warp there at zero and the target decloaks at 33km!? I fly into the exact middle of the thing and the target still comes out at 28km!?
Are you desperatly trying to bring down Lowsec Piracy forever?

You can still camp them. You just have to do it in 0.0 with 4 Large bubbles and 2 mediums, or 3 T2 Large bubbles =)
Theere are pleanty of other NON regional gates that work just fine, stop complaining and go camp one of them gees. - MinerPewPew |

So thanks and keep going guys!

You mean the 27km range one (with a Lvl 5 Claymore)? That won't help I'm afraid :/.
And no, you don't use Disruptors in Lowsec, especially after the MWD changes.

lol. obviously this guy is completely right, he knows everything about these stargate changes and i think he should be nominated king of eve. omg, you guys don't even understand how much insight and thought this guy has put into his arguments, its like - omg wowwowow.
stfu. the devs knew what they were doing with the new stargates. find another gate to camp. and YES- people do use disruptors in low sec. you can get a 66km arazu and 55km tripple web rapier with your amazing claymore there, and if you can't kill something with that tackle, maybe lowsec just ain't your thing.

Thanks for the bump!
Oh and while we're at it, I mean - since you've figured it all out, mind sharing your insight *what* exactly the devs thought when they did that? I mean - if it doesen't cost you too much energy to type a mature, not-insulting, not-trolling, not completly idiotic response.
Can you do that? Please?

The 'super-sized' gates are between regions, so should be plenty of camp sites for all the boy scouts out there. Move to next gate and all is back to 'normal'.
Inter-region trade is important for the Empires so making the connectors extra sturdy makes sense.
The biggest one is the Minmatar regional gates I think, had a hostile de-cloak some 70km from me.

Edited by: Vaedian GER on 14/02/2009 19:55:56 Ok stop with the "just move a bit" already. There's a reason we're based at a chokepoint between three regions.
And before someone really asks, it's because of the higher traffic!
So seriously, what's the reason for this?

What is it exactly you dont understand?
CCP were redesigning gates, and while at it, decided to make obvious chokepoint gates harder to camp.
Yes, it makes Rancer smartbomb camping harder, I guess. Why so much tears? --- Redesign local/scanner feature - make the place huge, dark and scary again! |

This thread is becoming the perfect example why the CCP forums are the worst gaming forums of all MMO's. Thanks guys, keep it going!
And yet, no Dev not even a Mod is showing any sign of interest in answering my question or at least removing the drivel from the thread. Amazing!
Btw... I never said we couldn't camp them anymore. I just don't see any particular reason for it and simply won't accept troll posts by wannabe wise guys as an answer.

This is because they dealt with all the trolling about the regional gates months ago when QR landed on TQ. You're horrbily late and even in the wrong forum. Take this to GD to troll about if you want.
The supersized regional gates are here to stay. Adapt or die.

Oh and btw, adaption is one thing. Silly design flaws are something else.

Well you certainly are asking for it, why not instead of whining like a headless chicken consider the options you now have, either bubble the huge gate with multiple large bubbles, or move to a small gate 1 jump down the road and go camp there instead.
I for one like the new tactical choices offered to me by ccp, and looking at this thread so do quite a few others.

A constructive reply is one that agrees with you? Not exactly sound logic.
Regional gates should be bigger, with an increased range of appearing around gate. The gate works by eseentially moving you from one point in space to another, within constellations these distances are small and more accurate to pinpoint the destination, so only small gates are needed. Between constellations the distance is greater, so there needs to be a bigger gate to draw more power to send it a longer distance, and with regional, well its a massive distance, requiring huge power. Its going to be rather inaccurate in bringing them to this target over such a great distance, so you appear upto larger areas around the gate.
You having been trolling your own thread, others adapt and don't mind these new gates. Most people dont have a problem with it and aren't going to change it because you want them to.
Deal with it, most threads on this forum go unreplied by mods/devs etc.
