It's spelt 'Bhaalgorn' but it's actually pronounced 'Throat Wobbler Mangrove.'

I thought the pronunciation was based on the double vowel i.e. The car and aeroplane manufacturer Saab is pronounced 'Sarb' not 'Sayb' based on that in your example Baal would equal 'Barl'? All very confusing for a Sunday...

There is no correct way to pronounce things in EVE. Alot of elitist linguists try to tell scandinavians how to pronounce names from our mythology, that just makes me laugh my butt off. Ragnarok? Huginn? Muninn? Sleipnir? The last one really sounds like sh*t in english while the first two has somehwat of a resemblance of Ragnar÷k, Hugin and Munin. Of course, the icelandic nubs pronounce it different than we do in Sweden, or the Norwegians do, etc..
..so in essence, just pronounce it the way it feels natural for you, and don't give a rats ass about what someone else tells you. Else you can go ballistic and start demand people learn others native tongues, including dialects and really go back to the origin. In some cases that includes several thousand year old pronounciations that I bet noone really knows, but just can guess how it "should" be said.
/end rant

And lol at all the people saying "it's just like how you pronounce Baal" which doesn't help at all when people could be pronouncing Baal any number of ways. L2 explain. At least people know how to pronounce the car company :D

That's even more confusing. Saab = swedish, and honestly I havn't heard a single swede ever say "sarb". It's just a long a.
Editing for clarity; Saab is owned by GM, I know. Origin however, is swedish, and ugh I know, we pronounce a-e-i-o-u-y etc in a way here that others can't pronounce for some reason. It's like my alt Mymh. For some reason people keep saying Mymph. Where's the p? It's just a long y. But the english y is more "why", and here's it's more of a mix of e and i. More.. Meem than Mymph.
Once again, just give it up, telling people how to pronounce things is neither really possible nor reasonable.

Just pronounce it the way you hear people pronounce saab. I don't get the 'sarb' part either. It's s-ah-b. Anyway.
Hint: if you want to play it safe just make sure you don't sound like a hick by saying "bail-gorn"

FYI the /emote command doesn't work in forums and only makes you look like a tool.

FYI it doesn't have to work since everyone understands it anyway…
And no, it's the whetstone that looks like a tool (for obvious reasons). ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |
