EVE Online: Apocrypha 1.1 will be deployed on Thursday, 16th April, 2009. Downtime is scheduled to start at 11.00 GMT and is expected to be completed by 16.15 GMT
This patch will fix issues that have been reported following the release of Apocrypha 1.0.2 along with new changes to ECM ships such as the Falcon, Rook, Scorpion and Widow. In addition there are a wide variety of fixes to the skill queue, agents and missions, user interface, localized clients and much more.
Patch Notes are available; updates to the notes may be added should any further items be cleared through the Quality Assurance process. These updates will be highlighted with green text.
Players should ensure that their skill queue is populated with an adequate number of skills to cover the extended downtime.

There goes the Neighborhood.
What about the increase from 5% to 10% Bonus to Heavy & Heavy Assault Missile velocity per level for the Rook?
If it's still there be sure to change the decription, on SiSi it just says "Heavy and Heavy".
Recon Ships Skill Bonus: 30% Bonus to ECM Target Jammer strength per level 10% Bonus to Heavy & Heavy Missile velocity per level
Gonna be pretty usless for the poor Falcon.

Really? I didn't see anything about them removing force recons from the game. Perhaps you need new glasses.
Quote: The number of gas and ore sites in wormhole space has been reduced to remove unnecessary results in the scanner. The new system will have more concentrated gas and bigger asteroids in the remaining sites to compensate.
I want to kiss the dev who made that change. No more having to sort though dozens of scan results only to find yet another mining site with 3 veldspar rocks in it Also, damn you Falcon!

For 0.0, high-sec, anything that doesn't involve getting shot at by sentries, WOOOT. For pirates, the CCP guy who thought out these changes - if i remember well it was a guy who did industry stuff for the last 2yrs and after only 2 weeks of testing on sisi these changes are going live, is a ****ing moron of the biggest calibre and should not be allowed to even play with staples at the office let alone do rebalancing.
Have you ppl even checked what this will do to pirates, or just went with this change with the same thought process that was put into rebalancing the i-stabbs - what started the whole nano-*** era anyway. --- I smack just for myself.

Indeed, you need new glasses.
Falcons are now totaly useless. Too lower range, a paper thin tank, just the poor Covert Cloak still remains, while the only thing needed was a script to the Sensor Booster to replace ECCM, or a boost to ECCM, or just make the Falcon at 150/160Km with fall-off to reduce Jam chance.
At least, they didn't be too harsh against Scorpion and Rook, but how long before whaaaa whaaaa players, who can't counter them because they suck, will cry again ?

Edited by: Kaiden Exeider on 15/04/2009 02:04:27 Hmm very good patch, but what about boosting the Black Ops Jump and Portal Range, and has there been any discussion about the Jumpgate and Jump drive animations, the new ones are universally agreed to.... well not to put a fine point on it, but suck. the general consensus is either give us back the old jump animations for drives and gates, or come up with a better one that has a "Wow" factor.

"Drones will now attack only the target assigned to them. In other words, drones will not just wander of and attack whatever they want. They will follow your wishes to the letter. "
Does that mean if they're set to aggressive they won't auto-attack stuff while you're jammed now? that's a nasty change :(

Yeah I liked that behavior! It was one of my favorite things about drones... Maybe they could have an auto attack mode?

I place my Falcon on the shelf and wonder how a paper thin crap tanking EWAR vessel will do at slightly over 100km+. I will miss the good times, jamming targets, being tactical, dodging other Falcons, Interceptors, being an effect Recon pilot. Gone are the days of a ship that fit it's combat roll ooh so well compared to the rest of the Recon ships. She has served me well and been an effective and fun instrument to fly. So long to the time invested in training up to be an effective EWAR pilot.
NERF HISTORY of EWAR: EWAR was used by everyone and so it was made useless in strength. EWAR was then only effective on ships that had EWAR bonuses. EWAR was then changed from being a solid 100% jammed or not to "Chance Based".
You know what, if you are going to basically eliminate all good ships and make this Hello Kitty Online where all the ships are the same, can we just get it over with already so I can move on? This slow painful nerfing over time just wears people out and takes a lot of fun out of your "Sand Box Ingenuity" frame work you so prize yourselves on. Just make all ships prenerfed like the Black OPS so people never even use them because they are so pathetically worthless.
Come to think of it, the in game Falcon should be mirrored with it's real life counter part. If I start whining that the Falcon is not like a real Falcon long enough, will you change it to me like this Falcon Video? Ok, let's get started on that long whine post about how in game Falcons are not like real life Falcons so we can get it change. Good thing I can use my rails on the Falcon to kill stuff, lol what a fricking joke, please insult the player base more and cater to the whiners so you can go bankrupt and end up like every other pandering group in the world. Or how about that 10 m3 drone bay, lol get the hell out of here are you kidding me?

Are the Black Ops fixes temporary or will this be the final Black Ops balancing? In other words, will BO get a fuel bay instead of the extra cargo + fuel consumption reduction in the foreseeable future?

Lot's of good fixes. thanks for the hard work. a few suggestions if i may, which are probably easy to implement. -- * "right-click > align to" on the bookmark entries. helpful for salvaging and moving to the next area quickly. * "right-click > jump" on stargates on the overview, from far, just as the "dock" option for stations. -- Appreciate it. =)

The implant changes, I suspect, are the unintended result of fixing the skill system to prevent people from exploiting the double training time by sticking a large skill just before the 1.6 million SP mark.
The system probably couldn't update attribute calculation on the fly until a skill is paused or completed (which made the exploit possible), and now that they fixed it, you end up needing new implants after getting podded each time.

Quote:
If you are podded in a clone which has slightly more than 1.6 million skill points, or that will bring you below 1.6 million skill points, you will now automatically revert to the double skill training bonus. In addition, if you are podded and lose implants the client will now adjust skill training time in line with your new attributes making skill training slightly longer. If you lost a rank of a learning skill due to being podded, the client will also take that into consideration and the new attribute level will instantly be applied making training of skills slightly longer.
That's a pretty big nerf to PvPers, especially those of us who like to train long skills to level V.
