I bet the DRF is ****ed! They spent Trillions of ISK taking the north so the Tech moons could supply their RMT business. Now, with every sub cancelled they are losing a potential customer. On top of that every RL $ that goes into MT is a potential RL $ that could be going thru their RMT shops.
CCP, be careful accepting any packages with Russian postmarks!

I'm not miffed about the over the top pricing that is going on in the NeX store front. If you don't want my money, fine. I'm miffed because very EVE unlike we cannot blow it up unless its in someone hangar. What happened to this 'EVE is a harsh universe'? Not to mention that it is very un RP like. Yeah my pod blew up, the bastards, but lucky did I wake up with my 80$ back in my head in my new clone.
I'm not miffed about CQ as it is. I'm miffed because it is not optional. It removed valuable functions like drag and drop and double click. And I'm miffed about the door thats been slammed into my face when I disable CQ. The longer I stare at it the more I feel it is an deliberate insult towards me/us not using CQ.
I'm not miffed about MT. I'm miffed because it looks like its going to affect my ingame play style. Because someone who doesn't understand EVE nor appreciates it, thinks it's a good idea to implement non-vanity items, specifically to milk us, the player base.
Things that would make me happy would be that the vanity stuff gets to be blown up, anywhere, anytime. This is, or at least was, the EVE where people blow stuff up. Hello Kitty is -> that way.
I want my hangar back and an option to choose between CQ and hangar. I'm not going to abandon CQ, I just want to be able to choose.
I want a firm statement that there will be no MT non-vanity items in EVE, EVER! If there will be, I will simply stop playing, leave never to return.
And I want an apology for being seen as a cash cow, a golden goose. And for being stupid not running this past the CSM.

So after 2-3 days of silence you admit that you just wanted your playerbase to post until their eyes started bleeding hoping they'd stop after that and you could continue without giving a proper answer...but that didn't happen so you decided to post here.
And what did you say? That you're sorry you didn't talk faster. But you're not saying anything, you have only apologized for the delay then you used a lot of "I can't say" "I won't say" "I didn't" "I wasn't" "I am not" etc. Basically you're not the person that should be giving answers. You are not apologizing for anything except being late. You don't apologize for the prices or the leaked document or the ****ty direction the game is taking. You're not. So screw you pann and whoever else is behind this.

The only reason I mention that is because I am not going to presume to know the minds of the people who did have comments in there. I am not going to throw people I love under the bus or to the lions or whatever. I can't/won't answer questions about what they said or why they said it.
Our newsletters are written as a means to bring about discussion (that sometimes can even become heated debate) among our coworkers. That's really all I can say about it. I am not a game designer. You didnt bring out any discussion. You just implemented it.
Let me guess, the reason you come forward now is the 10000s of cancelled subs? Do you think they gonna come back? No...
How do you think CCPs rating is now after being put and burned on all the gamesites for utter disgusting supergreed? Ye..pretty bad.

Non game breaking issues: - Illegible new icons for turrets - Overpriced MT items - Poorly implemented WiS stuff.
Game breaking issues: - Increased load for a mandatory feature (WiS) that adds only fluff to the eve game but breaks down the ability to play with several characters or even at all for those unlucky enough to own the wrong brand of graphics card. - Stated policy to implement MT for items that would give an in-game advantage despite the wishes of a large part of your players (the majority of those consulted) - Use of A LOT of resources (pay by Eve players) to develop other games and/or unneeded features at the cost of fixing long standing game play issues and unfinished game features. - The perception that you are trying to promote as Eve features what in fact is beta code for other games. - The perception that you treat us idiots or mindless cash machines instead of partners in a game that we all are contribute to develop. - The perception that CCP has stopped being a company with Eve as a dream and has become a corporation with only revenue in their sights, Eve becoming just a money making product that can be tweaked to get the maximum cash from players, the uniqueness of Eve be damned.
Sure, we got hold of an internal informal document that should never had been leaked. And true, the opinions there are just the opinions of those writing them, not of CCP. Everyone is entitled to its opinion and I for one do not think less of those defending MT for Eve in that paper. BUT, given that the paper is out, many players want/need now reassurances about the future of Eve.
I have unsubscribed my two accounts, I'm waiting to see what CCP wants to do with Eve. Pretty words won't cut it for me. It is only a couple of accounts, if I stop I'll lose more than you will. For me it will be throwing away a lot of time and work I have invested in this game over many years while you won't even feel it, just two accounts gone.
What could you do to reassure me? - Well, make WiS optional for one, let us hardcore spaceships fanatics keep playing the spaceships game we love without forcing us to buy your preferred brand of graphic card beacause of features we don't really care much about. - CCP's CEO could also step in and reassure us that the shops won't ever sell anything that would give an in-game benefit, no skills, remaps, fittings, standings, nothing. - Dedicate more staff to fix old forgotten Eve features, and I am not talking about making it prettier, I mean gameplay issues, involving the players as partners in the discussions, keeping us up to date on the improvements.
We care about Eve, the space ships game, all the rest (improving graphics, adding walking avatars, shops, a tied in PS3 game, etc...) should never be the main focus of a company that exists thanks to the spaceships game that is Eve. My faith in CCP will return SoonÖ |

I am really disappointed in you CCP.
I started getting immersed in EVE almost 4 years ago now and even though we had our ups and downs I still loved the 'idea' that was EVE Online. It took time to get somewhere, it took time to be something - now that dynamic feels like it is about to be taken away.
When I log on now, I dont get WIS, I get a single character with the same immersion that came without the presence of an avatar, I always knew I was in station - there we no need for me to be embodied. But that is the route you have taken and I feel as if my beloved spaceships are slowly getting away from me.
Asking fan sites to pay to be online, selling stuff at bat**** crazy prices, promising worse to come - where is my motivation to continue logging on? EVE is not the most exciting game or even the best but it does have its draw card: the community. Please lads, change for the better or it may be the end of what makes this game so good.
As a commitment to be a catalyst for change I will be removing my renewal from both of my accounts, I have just over a month of playtime left and I really hope that there is a reason for me to stay.

Cost of goods in the Noble Market is high indeed, but there's nothing inherently wrong with that. So what if only a small percentage of players can afford to shop there, just makes those items more prestigious. Also, high prices are good for the game, because the less people buy from Noble Market, the less non player crafted items enter the game. Personally I don't care much.
Unhappy about the CaptainÆs Quarters are just whiners. It's just a cosmetic change, gameplay hasn't been affected in any way.
Performance issues with Incarna could be real. While captains quarters runs good, and is even playable with two clients, I noticed that it puts quite a bit of load on my system, not sure if significantly more than other games though.
There's some rɘtarded speculations about micro-transactions and whatnot, but until CCP officially announces anything or throws out ideas, I don't see the point of that discussion. Just one note, people seem to be afraid that someday anyone will be able to buy real in-game advantage with real money, but forget that that's already possible through PLEX - right now I could buy a Nyx and a character that can pilot it.

I remember you when I first started and I remember you being a pretty damn good Community manager, something that seems sorely lacking from Eve these days. I don't know if CCP/Eve still has a community manager (last I remember was Keiron) but if they do, they need to start being a lot more vocal. If not, CCP could certainly use one because as a company you've been stumbling from one PR disaster to the next the last few months.
Just a point of note to the suits at CCP. Milk your cash cow too hard and you'll kill it. Scrap AUR, allow ISK to be spent in that shop.

Yes but both that pilot and the nyx have been built by the community. Microtransactions are items from thin air. Also, you gain no advantage over another player by doing the above. By CCP making Aurum only items available, it will give advantages to those willing to spend more money, or help ccp with their PLEX sink hole.

I'm a new subscriber (2 months) and have always hated MMO's until I found EVE on a free trial. I have no resistance to change yet as I don't have the emotional or financial investment that many of these guys have earned.
However, I think you are heading in a very destructive direction.
In itself CQ neither interests me nor bothers me. It has no relevance to the way the game has got me addicted and is nowhere near slick enough or performance friendly for me to want to engage with it. That said, I can turn it off so it doesn't cause me a problem.
From my perspective you are also welcome to try and sell anything you like vanity wise be it a RL t-shirt or and in game monocle for as much as you think enough lunatics might pay. Good luck to you if you make a few quid off it. I suspect vanity in RL or in game is not a major part of EVE subscribers lives (not in mine anyway) but, again, it doesn't bother me.
What worries me is the progression. I cannot grasp why CQ and aurum exists unless it is the first part of a move away from space to stations and a move to RL cash purchasing of ships etc. Otherwise the investment in implementing it makes no sense. It is certainly not good enough on it's own to generate any new subscriptions.
Without any hyperbole I would not subscribe if it was possible to buy ships etc for cash. It would make the game of no interest for me at all. I could afford to be involved in a pay per kill game but I wouldn't be interested. I like the idea of fighting and grafting my way up the ladder. I may never make it up many rungs but it is fun trying.
You have missed the point badly if you think for a second that many people are bothered by the aurum prices. I can opt out of buying a monocle for aurum the same way I can opt out of buying a hulk for isk if the price isn't right. I may want a hulk for isk or I may want a monocle but I wouldn't storm off sulking if the price wasn't right. That misunderstanding in your post alone worries me greatly as to the future direction. It reeks that this thread is about damage limitation and expectation management.
Unless I am missing something your business model so far has been profitable and it has been based on a sandbox space flying and semi self contained trading game with minimised external financial influences to game mechanics. I would be very careful before I shifted tack so definitively. It is one hell of a gamble to play with this instead of making the current mechanics better and less bug free and you'd better be sure it will attract more new players than you lose. I would doubt it and I will be one of the ones you lose the second you let someone buy a ship.
