Awesome! This is much sooner than I was expecting. I figured QR would not be out till December at the earliest.
Glad to see the Speed Nerf, the Orca, the Weapon Grouping, and the Orca (yeah I said it twice on purpose) coming in.
Keep it up CCP.
(No more invulnerable Vaga / Ishtar gangs! well I hope anyways)

Originally by: Kary Tamona I'm just a newcomer to Eve but the changes seem quite nice. Lots of grognards are mumbling about changes (nerfs) to some boats. So what, the nerf of a class of boats is the boost of another. all those whiners should just adapt to the new situation, train some different skills, play around with different set ups, enjoy the changes and make the best out of them... or is that those whiners rather play the same old boring fitted ships once and again than try some new tactics? We are gamers, we like eve because it is a challenging game. stop the whining and enjoy the game.
Me? I'm sure I will enjoy the nice lag free experience of the game, the new boat, the medals and the certificates, and when I get skills to start worrying about the speed of my ship then I will study the situation and play around till I figure out how to beat my enemies in fleet battles.
someone told me EvE is a game for mature, educated people. They must be enjoying the game 'cos in the forums I mostly see the rambles of frustrated teenagers.
A happy (new) EvE player.
Please dont come here and spew your high almighty crap, you say you are new to eve and it shows by the fact you have no understanding of what these changes realy do, it isnt just about certain nerfs of different boats its about a complete overhaul of pvp and the changes arnt for the better, they just encourage blobbing and the complete dumbing down of pvp in general.
So many people have tested the changes and pointed them out to CCP but they havnt listened one bit even when shown the facts, its a good example of how CCP has changed with success, i guess we cant blame them but it doesnt mean we cant tell them how crap they are making a once great game.

The difference is WOW had the memberbase to be able to do that, EVE doesnt, but that still doesnt take away from the fact that we pay alittle higher subscription charge so the expansions arnt realy free.

Drakar Kaal said "They could be like damn near every other company and make you pay for each expansion they release. But they don't." That's because the type of content Eve gets as expansions this year most other MMORPG get as free content patch's on top of real expansions. Not only that but every other MMORPG I play do not make you pay for expansions and they are cheaper per month.

Although not a lover of WoW I do pay my other halfs sub for it and it works out on average ú2 a month cheaper than Eve
So over a year you probably do pay for the expansion that and expansions in WoW do contain alot of content normally. Having looked back at some of the older expansions you really notice how much stuff CCP use to add.

Apparently, redesigning the gates that were released 10 months earlier was a higher priority.

Well I don't know about you, but for me, it seems everything but the orca is closer to the "minor version" change list than to the main feature list of an expansion.
It looks like something wasn't ready for release (or has'nt been announced yet) So CCP has looked deep in their basement to find something to add in this ... something I really cannot call an expansion
To sum up I'm really disapointed, and I find a bit dishonest to include "features" such as Stackless IO and EVE64 in an "expansion" list... I'm begining to understand the expansion's name. "Quantum rise", so little no one can see it ...
I hope there will be a big announce in fanfest ...
I'm hoping there is much more at fanfest announced too about QR, it seems the most light expansion we've ever had :(.
I was sure hoping more from it.

Jeebus, when they bring out content the whiners complain that they dont "fix the lag"
this time they've concentrated on 'fixing the lag' and its "wheres the content"?

Todd Doughnut said "Jeebus, when they bring out content the whiners complain that they dont "fix the lag" this time they've concentrated on 'fixing the lag' and its "wheres the content"?" You have fallen for the marketing ploy. There are no lag fix's in next week's expansion as they are already in game and active. Take out all the stuff we already have and you're left with almost nothing next week. That and in the past the real expansions always had both lag fix's and lots of new content. The people who fix lag should not be the same as the people who make new content. So where is the new content?

Reten Kip said "It's possible that they're saving most of the content to announce at the fanfest. " That would be a very stupid move. News sites are already spreading the announcement of the new expansion and how small it is. CCP just created them self bad publicity. If they wanted to wait till Fanfest to announce new feature they should have hold of the expansion announcement till then.

THIS!!!! The last 'expansion' already was a complete joke - FW anyone. A lot of unwanted nerfs, a few minor changes and one new ship. That's ridiculous - go on like this and I cannot see anywhere a 'bright future' for EVE. The opposite might be more likely the case!
I'm totally disappointed

Since I wasn't "crystal clear" in my previous post and since some of my sentences were misunderstood, i'd like to better explain myself there.
First of all, I do honestly appreciate the modifications brought by the next patch: - I'm a fervent pro-"speed nerf" (I'm flying only caldari ships so you know why) - I'm also one of many who says "fix lag before adding new content" (I'm one of the 0.0 guys ...) - I love new graphics and industry ships.
But, this announce has really a bitter taste for two reasons : - first, a lot of things are already in (this is acknoledged by CPP, see the little characters in light grey at the bottom of the feature page) or don't even deserve the "feature title" (bomb BPO production +1 must have cost 10second of work time to one of the many CCP programmers, it's the most little tweak one can do, not a "feature"), or were initially not planned for the expansion (speed nerf).. So, in my opinion, this should be called a patch, not an extension - secondly, obviously, all but the orca was not initially planned for this extension, and added only in the last weeks (or perhaps days) which leads one way or another : either CCP has a big announce under the hood (fanfest ?) or is in serious difficulty not being able to plan a "major extension which they are proud of" as stated in the previous press release

Muppet learn to read before you start talking crap, the nano changes even though i dont agree with them i can live with, the fact that they are nerfing almost the entire way pvp works at min is whats wrong with this expansion and ive tested enough to atleast be able to know alittle bit about the changes have you?

Not to mention the lag has been worse then ever since the new anti lag features.
Normally I respect your comments Pottsey but that last line has to be the most blatant lie I've heard full stop. With the exception of a 3 day period lag has been massively reduced for the vast majority of players. I've taken part in battles involving sizes of fleets we couldn't have dreamed of 2 months ago and been able to function quite well. I go to jita with 800 people in local and have essentialy no lag. And those aren't just my comments its the comments I hear all the time.
Your comment just sounds like you have an axe to grind and don't mind trashing your former reputation for eloquent arguments and innovative persuasive ship setups.
