1. New Eve API program for the mac - in Macintosh [original thread]
Very nice app! I'd also like to be able to browse the battleclinic loadouts from the app, not necessarily use those loadouts or interact with them, but rather be able to see them so I can figure out a skillset. Very nicely done though. The skill ...

2. I forgot I was on the Mac client today. Excellent performance. - in Macintosh [original thread]
Originally by: Ami Nia It may have to do with the fact that ATI lyed and ATI cards that are supposed to support Shader Model 2 level graphics and modern OpenGL features and extensions actually do not. I guess disabling all the performance ...

3. I forgot I was on the Mac client today. Excellent performance. - in Macintosh [original thread]
Thanks to the performance tweak stickied, I can run the game "comfortably" with everything at max detail. I had made a habit of loading up Eve on the classic client to do some skill updating, and it was in the back of my mind to "boot to Windows f...

4. Mac with low FPS? Eve config file changes here... - in Macintosh [original thread]
I too posted a huge gain. I went from 20 fps with every setting at minimum (on 1920x1200) to 50-80 fps with everything at max except bloom. 24" iMac 2.8GHz CPU w/4GB RAM and 256mb ATI 2600HD

5. Macintosh in CCP HQ? - in Macintosh [original thread]
Iceland's currency is seriously hammered too, CCP is probably having a difficult time being an Icelandic company and all with that. Here's hoping they can keep things straight for the time being until their currency recovers.

6. Yet another rant about the dire hatred of the current client. - in Macintosh [original thread]
The Premium beta is a ray of light, but at this point I'm going to say that this....ridiculous offering to Mac users is more and more pathetic with each minute I play this game. On Windows it plays like a dream, but seriously CCP, S.T.O.P. making...

7. Premium Graphics Beta Client Now Available for Download - in Macintosh [original thread]
Probably mentioned already.....but.... Cloaking effect is missing. Ship just goes translucent with no transition. A note to the devs about the fan advice. From my iMac I have tried a few things, I used the smc fan control utility and concluded a...

8. Premium Graphics Beta Client Now Available for Download - in Macintosh [original thread]
I am actually quite pleased with its performance. Other than the bloom it runs pretty well for emulation. I'm still hoping CCP branches out into OpenGL though, but as far as the reward for devoting that much resource to a native client I underst...

9. Premium Graphics Beta Client Now Available for Download - in Macintosh [original thread]
My system is a 24" with a 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo and the ATI 2600HD GPU. I'm running w/4GB of RAM. I can run it at 1920x1200 but with no bloom. I can turn HDR on and get around 30 fps. Shadows at the highest quality. When I wanted to see the bloom thou...

I can't seem to get the disk image to mount. I keep getting a codec overrun when verifying it. I tried dl'ing with wget as well.

Originally by: CCP Casqade http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=971003 Well he sure meant soon. Hot damn, now that's more like it :D Looks like he meant a little bit of 2 mixed with 3 on the "soon" definition.

15. The Premium Client -is- at Macworld - in Macintosh [original thread]
Well in order for Cider to run it, I'm assuming that the Macs they used were some jacked up liquid-nitrogen-cooled Mac Pro's using hacked nVidia cards with an OC on those too. That...and it was probably set at 640x480 to get 50-60 fps.

18. No client is better than this client. - in Macintosh [original thread]
As it is, the Mac takes a hit because the OGL API that OSX uses internally is very low level and tied to some of the OS core processes. What a user-level app is given access to is a layer of abstraction that goes to the OGL API then to the hardwar...

Cider is a slap in our face. When I suddenly go adrift, it's a bit like The Matrix where in the real world the plug gets pulled and they just die. Is there any due recourse for when this game crashes because of Cider's stupid "page fault" errors...
