Thanks for your replies everyone. I'm fairly well-versed in how DX9 and DX10 handles communication to the hardware, and with the software issues involved, and I do realize I can't possibly run in DX10 mode...expecially with no DX10 cards out yet ...

So here's one for you guys...where do you find your prefs.ini file if you're in Vista RC1, and in the EVE directory there is -no- cache directory, even after playing for a few hours
