You must be referring to the Serpentis 1/10 plex - well, that's where I got those. I assume they are used to get though the gates in the plex, but haven't tried the gates without the key.

Just use EFT to find a setup that will let you permarun a Large Shield Booster, and be able to tank a good amount of dps (500 raw dps, as someone else said.) However, the domi is the ulimate afk missioning ship - while it's not as fast as a raven...
