They're making it harder with scan probes, not exploration ones. For instance currently scan probes have a tiny max deviation, even with a weak result you land fairly close to the target, to the point where you can skip most of the probe subtype...

Try Eve Explorer . Search for agents, with "level" "= 1", "offering function" "locate". From there you could add an extra logical operation such as "in a region name containing" "The Forge" etc.

Timesink != difficulty. I concur that spoon feeding results isn't the answer, but I want exploration to be a intellectual challenge, not one of patience. The emotional reward in uncovering a site should be in solving a puzzle not blind luck.
