81. Fixing the skiff for lowsec - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
Spugg Galdon wrote: Mining barges are designed to have an escort. Not protect themselves. Recruit some peeps to live in your lowsec system with you to rat and run anoms. They can then protect you whilst your mining by warping in and killing the...

83. Fixing the skiff for lowsec - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
At the moment, the only reasonable fit I can see for a skiff in lowsec is: High - t2 strip miner w/ t1 crystal (self sufficient w/o mobile lab for invention) Rigs -Two Shield Field Extender 2's, needed to survive multiple NPC BS's going after you...

84. Fixing the skiff for lowsec - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
Anticipating a counter argument that one doesn't need to fit stabs in lowsec because the pilot should be watching local -- this argument just doesn't carry water, primarily because the rats in belts will try to warp scrabble and one can't flee sig...

85. Fixing the skiff for lowsec - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
Problem: Skiff has great tank, and trades mining yield and ore bay size to get it - however, when in lowsec, yield is nerfed several more times and mandatory use of warp stab has the secondary effect of sensor dampening the skiffs primary defense ...

86. Skiff, what happened to the +2 warp strength bonus? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Well, I finally had a chance to take my skiff out to lowsec to test it out- Good stuff: Skiff has great EHP..mine was ~72K fitted, agility/speed was good enough Mining isn't a reason to go to lowsec, but the lowsec ores and rats definitely helps...

87. Sticky:EVE Online: Inferno 1.3 deployment announcement - in EVE Information Portal [original thread]
this whole patch thing reminds me of Gilligan's island...if only we are lucky and tranq cluster ends up safely landing after a 3hr tour..if not for the valour of the courageous devs, the server would be lost. Although, it would be nicer if they j...

88. Encourageing Players To Enjoy More Risk - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
As someone who has spent several years in highsec, briefly ran a pos in wormhole space (mimicing null sec), and has now moved to lowsec - I can say the differences between the areas comes down to: a) High Sec - Best place to learn to play the gam...

89. So I want to try and set up a Moon Mining POS - in Science and Industry [original thread]
It's hard to find a decent moon in lowsec......I have to imagine it would be 10x harder in null sec as moons have been mapped since forever and all the alliances know where they are. If you really want to do moon stuff, do it as a supplement to s...

90. ORE super hauler - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
IMHO: Ore hauling ships should be focused on large ore/min bays period. All other hauling should use standard race based hauling skills. It'd be nice if t2 transports got a small buff or if there was a more affordable version of jump freighter, bu...

91. Making the Procuror, Skiff, Covetor and Hulk Relevant - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
As far as balancing goes: The only thing the hulk might need is a slight buff to yield so that there is more of a contrast between it and the mack. I'd rather not give it an extra low slot so just increase the ship based bonus slightly (maybe by...

92. More, meaner Hi-sec belt rats. - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
I'd have no problem with: - Keeping normal easy rats in 0.7 and above (perfect for mining barges and new miners) - Significantly increase difficultly of rats in 0.5/0.6, there should be some minor risk for hulks/macks in 0.5, safety focused miners...

93. Courier contracts, what's the going rate? - in Market Discussions [original thread]

As someone who has done a lot of hauling with public contracts and an obelisk freighter (937.5K m3), I'd have to say that what I look for in a contract is: a) Minimum payout of 2M isk (lower sized contracts get filtered out) b) Low collaterals, I'...

97. Ore Hauler? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
The reply writes itself -- for solo or small group work, the orca is the definitive choice for mineral and ore hauling. For larger corps and ongoing hauls >500M isk, bump up to freighter.

100. How do you evaluate whether your trade hauling ship is gank-worthy for profiteer? - in Science and Industry [original thread]
