try also running the premium client, as mentioned already, with the premium content turned off. that client works better than the classic content client.

I would try reinstalling FX drivers and EVE, looks like the beta might have messed with something and broken drivers eve uses, just a guess though.

There is a short-cut key that makes the screen go back to full screen, or at least i think there is. Use this to get the program runing as it should in full screen then switch back to window. Using the same res as your desktop res for window mode...
