Here goes. The other threads died and I'm still bored of not being able to play Eve. For those that insist that lag and Tranquility are to blame here, think again. Have a quick read of Molden Heath is the most laggiest region EVER? (Single page...

Well, I'm way wrong on the 50/50 ratio bit, a single virtual processor can utilise 100% of the cycles. Further reading, Stutter, freezing and lag

Okay, I definitely spoke too soon on this one. Here's a good set of tests that show clearly that the slicing is not as simple as I'd assumed, Hyper-Threading speeds Linux Apologies. HTT is fine left enabled, even for DirectX games. In fact it s...

Can't say I've actually looked at the details for HTT but common sense tells me it doesn't have any ability to adjust the slicing ratio. You simply get 50/50 slicing on the two virtual processors when HTT is enable. If one is idle, too bad.

Actually, to be honest, I'm strongly suspicious the recent crop of chronically over the top batch of stutters is being caused by a bug like the old faulty jpeg in the billboard bug.

Originally by: Pewpewdude it would also help to reduce the lag. That's also wrong. Stutter is a localised issue with what is in the client's view.

Heh, it might even be that the server code has had it's much vaunted speed optimisation. And guess what, the faster the servers are at dumping the gory details on our poor neglected clients the bigger the stutter will be each time.

The only busy loop is the continual rendering. It's a normal game - ie: There is really no reason for it to give up any CPU since it's a dedicated program. And, as for complaining about just the login, that's being seriously picky. Another case o...
