Hi peeps,
I've searched around quite a lot, but wihout luck, so here goes!
I'm very close to being able to run missions for lvl4 agents with all factions, so I'm interested in knowing which faction supplies the best loot / Salvage.
Sansha's, blood raiders, guristas etc.? Which faction drops the best loot and salvage, and which empire faction will give me missions against said faction?
Thanks in advance :)

For best salvage, people swear by Blood Raiders and Sanshas. While almost all factions hand out missions against them, you get the most amount of missions against them in Amarr space, propably also Khanid and Ammatar space.
Angels also give out good salvage, look to the Minmatar for missions against the Angels.
Guristas, Serpentis and Mercenearies are generally considered to give poor salvage. Mercenaries, on the other hand, drop excellent loot...and lots of it.
Drones fall somewhere in the middle. They give a decent mix of salvage, and all of their loot is Drone Alloys, which refine into minerals. You won't get as much money out of Drones, though.
Hope this helps. |

I'll secind that re Mercs, they drop a lot of loot, most of it is named as well so think meta 2/3.
Salvage wise you tend to get a lot of scrpa metal as well as components.
All of course can be reprocessed but it does mean you need a decent cargo hold. 300m3 will not last long at all so think of about 2k or more.

level 4 missions vary quite a bit in loot and slavage.
You will get anywhere from 10m3 up to 3000m3 in loot depending on the mission. Mercs and drones are the once that usually produce most loot. Salvage though drones are better, and mercs are crap because they produce a lot of scrap metal which is very bulky and not really worth going back for.
The best salvage as mentioned before is Blood raiders and Angels but with the exception of the mercs and the faction navy's you will get resonable salvage out of pretty much all mission ships. ------------------------------------------- Should you disagree with me, well I guess that is because I disagree with you. If you have a problem with that please feel free not to tell me. |

Hmmm. Aren't there a lot of Ninja salvagers in Dodixie preying on mission-runner generated wrecks?

Yes, there are a lot of them now. I find myself torn between reluctant admiration and a strong desire to squeeze their heads until they pop.

Gurista and Serpentis salvage is crappy - until you want to build shield rigs or grav capacitor upgrade rigs.... Ward Consoles and Damaged Artificial Neural Networks being major components for these. Thus, I give thanks to the RNG when my agents give me Gurista missions. Also - I've noticed what seems to be a sudden upsurge in Cargo Delivery L4 vs. Serps. from Royal Khanid Navy agents; anyone else?

Most factions give a varity of pirate faction missions so the loot salvage varies. blood raiders and sanshas( the ones that use lasers whichever those are) drop good loot as do mercs usually. Drones drop decent loot as well but it only makes up for no bounties.
As for salvage If your looking for rig building components i would mix caldari and minny agents as between them you can build almost any rig. if your looking pay wise i would the same. angels drop the expensive alloy bars and armor plates and guristas drop melted caps, ward consoles, and burned logic(im not 100% sure on the melted caps but i get quite a few out of caldari agents)
Angels is about the only faction that isnt commonly given by a caldari agent except on AE which i personally dont get alot.
But i would say caldari is the most well rounded agent for all pirate factions.

Little known fact: most mission runners in Amarr space don't farm angel extra or worlds collide because Paladins and Nightmares are utter suk vs angels. So highly popular Amarr L4 combat agents hand those two missions out much more often than their minmatar counterparts.
I had over 6 AEs and two WCs clogging my refuse list one day. It was absolutely stupid.
So yeah, head south for the best overall loot and salvage. LP cashout isn't quite as good as Caldari agents however.

Regarding missions against Angels and Amarr ships... I really don't know why people refuse AE/WC, even though lasers are not so good, Angel dps is pathetic, their ewar sucks and they like coming close and personal and after all those missions pay well so it's a peace of cake running against them even in Amarr ships. By far, Angels are the least annoying :)
Best Salvage: Sansha, Blood, Angel Best Loot: EoM, Mercenary -- generally, mission generic wrecks offer best loot

Are you guys sure about EoM? I remember loot once being good in 'Gone Berserk' but it was awful the first time I did the mission after returning to EVE. I just assumed it had been nerfed and never looted it again.
Agree with Serpentis/Guristas being poor in salvage and loot. Only exception I make is the close range 1m+ Serpentis BS in WC. They drop nice guns sometimes.

Gone Berserk is probably my favorite mission by far.
1. Easy to handle (aggro) 2. Shooting Gallery 3. Excellent loot/salvage
Only annoying part is the rather large size of the loot (primarily lasers). One thing to do is have a tractor beam and just drag around a jettison can as you collect from the various wrecks, then bring in a hauler when you're done.
