Ok, So maybe this is ******ed, you say that you are only interested with regards lag suffered by those in Factional warfare, however surely lag issues effect other players as well?
In relation to this although CCP's priority might be currently set with the idea of resolving this for factional warfare only would this kind of "Beta Testing" be better rolled out to other player's who are getting lag on a daily basis.
This surely would show any common factors shared by players in relation to server response time, for example and not related to factional warfare using the market on the 21'st of febuary 2009 in Mani, was resulting in game freeze for me and other players of up to 2 minutes.
Not realy acceptable in station dangerous when undocked.
Players where also experiencing lag's of similar time scale when ever somthing required a server request it would seem.
I apreaciate this is potentialy an isolated incident?

I think both issues are related because everyone says that high sec area is connected to low sec space (low sec being faction warfare space) so we are feeding off the same server area and hopefully once address (faction warfare lag) the high sec markets area's would be a little better off also since more speed is added for us to do our FW stuff.
If not I would suggest as I did start a forum petition about this and get everyone in that area to sign it (I got over 100 signs on it) and let CCP know about it. It took a few weeks to get them to see the topic and some haggling with people to get them to sign it but now CCP is working on the FW issue. But if it is that bad I would let them know and get everyone in your area to let CCP know also as I did.
I would maybe wait for them to fix Faction War lag and see if that helps out your system (i'm thinking it's high sec) if not then let them know.

We just had an organized "lag" fleet fight in Auga. A bug report will be up shortly. For CCP further data on participants see.

Yep, but the issue is kind of unpredictable,
Well no it isn't. Get in a FW fleet above 20 ships and fight another fleet of similar size and it will ALWAYS lag now. I have not had a smooth fleet battle of any size in FW since QR. Just get into an FW character and join a fleet and you will experience this problem very quickly. Don't forget to turn your logserver on.

Logging tonight.
I wonder how many people experiencing lag fight with alts? The reason I ask is that I've been a hi-sec carebear for 4-5 months and had 0 lag issues. This weekend I created an alt to venture into nullsec space. That pilot gets bitten by lag ridiculously/reliably whether in or out of combat, in hi-sec, low-sec and null. Switching back to my 'carebear' main and problem goes away.

I have 2 questions. 1) If I can get a logserver report and send that when I loose a ship because of desync or lag with a petition will it help the odds of getting my ship back? (I haven't gotten a ship replaced for 2-3 years now... but then I only send a report when I had no options because of a clear fault).
2) I'm getting a lot of a different problem recently and I want to know if this is something you want me to try and catch on this log server dealie. I fit or move an item and it's 'ghost' stays put where it was and is sometimes interactable but unmovable and is recognized by the server as being in a different place. Like fitting a mod-> goes on ship and stays in hanger-> move from hanger to cargo bay-> unfits from ship and goes to cargo bay-> other items moved from hanger to cargo bay are gone and won't return till DT-> I miss an op and am royally ****ed.
I'll bet this is the same bug that's bufu'd the jump clowns and causing excessive petition overhead. When this is found to be the case what's my prize? Oh, let me also give a wild guess that this is related to protectionless.... I mean 'stackless' IO

Soundwave, these incidents are a known issue, they have been for some time now. Can you explain why GMs are refusing reimbursements for losses? Is a wave of 80 petitions per battle not enough evidence of losses?
As far as I'm aware, up to now, losses from these severely lagged battles have been reimbursed regularly.
Disclaimer: Yes, I'm ****ed, faction fit Absolution and implanted pod down the toilet, with VIDEO EVIDENCE posted publicly, and 'our side's logs can't validate your claims.'

So let me get this right the problem started with QR release? What did we get with QR Stackless IO Vastly outperforming previous network technology, Stackless IO brings reduced latency and faster response to EVE Online. With Stackless IO, the groundwork has been laid for pushing the limits of today's server technology to new heights. Has anyone thought to run pingplotter at the same time as a fleet fight? How many timeouts do you you get or do you see any change in the network at the time of these fights? I will try to test this my self as I don't join many fleet fights do to the lag of late. Try it out for your self and post a copy of your read outs. You can get pingplotter from PingPlotter Now I am not saying this the problem but worth looking at.

The lag is very specific, you can fly two fleets of 20 men each around forever but a few seconds after contact and modules go active the client comes to a stand still with all kind of funky duplicating of overview entries and rubber-banding going on .. hell I have had a target locked on screen while in station waiting to to reship .. very funky :)

I just wanted to thank everyone for helping out. The data you guys have submitted so far would have taken us far longer to collect ourselves. We have started the process of going through everything, and without giving any specifics, I would say things are looking very good.
We may organize a big Faction Warfare fight night on Sisi that we can observe live in the near future, just to be 100% sure we have not missed anything. But right now we have logs that need to be read, and solutions to think up. Please bear with us as we are currently two weeks away from the biggest expansion in EVE history, which is obviously keeping us very busy.

I reckon the IP you'd be pinging would be the authentication server which is separated from the game server and not responsible for game lag. The game server won't respond to other apps/ports or the client if not passed securely from the auth serv. ...But that's just my opinion. It could be different.

Can you at least buff up one of the systems (add more server stuffy to it?) for each faction like Auga for Amarr/Minmatar and something for the other people while we wait for the fix?
Thanks for everything

Yep, but the issue is kind of unpredictable, so none of our guys have had it yet We would have gotten it eventually, but this speeds up the process 10x.
Soundwave...simple way to experience this...join a Caldari 40-50 man fleet. You WILL experience the lag.

Thanks Soundwave. I'm sure many of us would be up for a SiSi battle. In the meantime, the caldari PERVs have invited us to a fight for a lag solution next thursday on TQ and we will have logserver running.
