If there is even the SLIGHTEST chance that I could have an account banned because I ACCEPT a contract then using contracts is now verboten for me, and I'll make sure that all Alliance and corpmates know of this danger as well. CCP, I know you're trying to do a fair job, but when a situation like this occurs it shakes our confidence in your system. Pls keep us updated on this issue.

I have heard stories over at SCH about the exact same thing happening to people that weren't violating the EULA and had no chances to try to provide anything in their defense because CCP wouldn't provide proof of their reasonings behind the banhammer. Heck, I've even heard a story about how someone was perma'd for macro mining merely because a GM typed in the wrong name. He asks in the petition "What'd I do?" and gets a reply of "You know what you did". Obviously they need to take action and to investigate but why ban his other accounts. Their current system really needs work in the way of better customer service and resolutions that dont make you look like the criminal.

It's irresponsible to post a public reply with no facts at all, just to display CCP's complete disregard for their customer's legitimate concerns (yes, us corpmates are customers also). It also leads to speculation in various directions as well as insecurity and doubt regarding the contract system (sure, it's "safe as ever" because you say so, just like there is "more than meets the eye" because you wrote it). I really can't think of a valid reason why CCP would not post any sort of proof or further details to at least try not to make this case look like a case of "we couldn't be arsed to investigate thoroughly, so we just banned everyone who got stuff from the hacked account - case closed".

I would escelate the matter to a senior GM who would look at the matter in a more professional manner.

Of course the method employed is a known method for getting peoples accounts banned and is used all too often by griefers.

Crying on the forum when banned is common in most online games. Especially when the GM's are supposed to keep this info between themselves and the one banned. Because then they can cry undisturbed by such annoying things as the truth. Most likely the guy deserves a ban.
