Fortunately with the newer teller process that is being implemented, you are an ideal candidate. The new system is not the honor system like eBank's. Dynasty bank realizes that it is foolish to ask all of you try simply trust anyone who could become a teller. And having been involved with eBank's tellering system, I have to admit there is significant risk in that tired old model. Especially to anyone who doesn't regularly check their accounts.
I assume that the new system will simply transfer isk between the debtor's and creditor's Dbank accounts / automatically create a new account.
I can see this working for Ebank... but Dbank?
Originally by: eVaLF How did this go from DBANK thread to an EBANK Thread? Was reading through the thread then Shar started talking about EBANK tellering then posting logs of MSN Convo's. Did I miss somthing?
Manalapan is the only one who knows what's going on and he doesn't post. So we're lending Salpad a hand here by discussing similar problems that Ebank has encountered. Prevention is better than cure you know.
If its a software system that can be lisc out and tailored to suit your needs (if I have been following Mr H's hints at this point) then the opportunities for not just Dbank, but every other financial startup model are pretty huge.
...but this thread is getting off track here. |

How many oars does a boat need? (that is not supposed to be a pun!) I'm going to stick mine in anyway.
- RL issues took Iknota out of the game just at the time DBANK was growing incredibly quickly. Iknota was not only a teller and face of DBANK but also very involved in the website and backoffice systems. Hopefully he will be back soon
- Also at this time Xabier, a generally trusted member of the MD community, decided to abuse the position of trust he'd been given and run off with the assets allocated to him.
- There's more to being a teller than just handing out cash. Multiple tellers cannot process the same withdrawal; different accounts have rules on number of withdrawals allowed within a given timeframe; A withdrawal has potential impact on interest earned and unearned; etc, etc, etc. It's not as easy as just saying that a DBANK teller could process withdrawals, there's a lot to take into account.
The above reasons are not all but an indication of the problems of bringing new tellers online. Trust is a MAJOR factor, not only to the extent of running off with bank funds but also being certain that the bank's internal client account database is secure enough that a teller could not maliciously do any damage.
Systems are being put in place and with Shar's critical eye watching over developments, there is no room for complacency or error.
On the up side, DBANK does offer substantially higher interest rates than the competition (and even several IPOs), and I would hope that the inconvenience of delayed withdrawals is compensated by this, along with the knowledge that DBANK is implementing systems to ensure its security and efficiency.

EBANK got brought into this after Shar got upset in this thread when I questioned a few important areas of DBANK that should be looked into.
As per normal Shar somehow found a way to make it into his problem when this is way bigger than him, the health of DBANK affects the entire secondary market. I don't regret posting what I did, except that I put it in the wrong thread. |

Concealed within his fortress, the Lord of Mordor sees all. His gaze pierces cloud, shadow, earth and flesh. You know of what I speak, Ricdic. A Great Eye, lidless, wreathed in flame. The Eye of Shar.
But the hearts of Men... are easily corrupted. And Manalapan has a will of its own. He betrayed Shar... to his death. And some things that should not have been forgotten... were lost. History became legend... legend became myth.
Joke aside, I hope you know what you're doing Shar and you're not jumping at the opportunity as a means of getting even with Ricdic.

Like any good boss, Hexxx has placed cameras in all of EBANK's employees' homes and frankly, he didn't like the look on Ricdic's face when he typed that post. There was a mischievous glint in his eye and if you don't take a hard line against that sort of thing now, who knows where it will end up.

Correct.
I'm not convinced that something bad hasn't happened. Other than Salpad, is it possible that the rest of DBANK crossed the road without looking for oncoming buses?
Quote: Ricdic (about starting ebank, July 2007): Think of it as a miniature EIB done right. I cannot see this getting anywhere near 700b any time in the future tbh.

This is the official response: Withdrawals have, of course, been caught up and handled. We do not anticipate any further delays like this one happening. Work continues on finishing out our "decentralized tellering system" to ensure that access to funds surpasses even eBanks standard levels. As to actual discussion over issues raised by Ricdic I'm going to answer with the same thoroughness that eBank has always answered such matters: We have a readily available website, we have a readily available forum. Any depositor that has any concerns can, and have, contact at those forums (publicly or privately) and receive the service that any customer deserves. Just as eBank has always said, and set as a standard, banks do not answer to the public at large but to their depositors. Getting into such discussions and debates here is quite simply foolish and counter productive. That's the end of this statement. /thread.

If the first part is an honest answer Great. Maybe by time my bond is up I will trust DBANK with more of my isk.
Are you working for DBANK Officially, meaning we can take your word for what is posted above? If so you may want to stop with the sarcastic stuff between you and EBANK its pretty childess. -----

Yes I am working for or, more accurately, with dBank. And I've asked permission, and received it, to speak out on this issue. Further, as you all have come to expect, if in the course of my interaction with dBank I find any hanky panky or funny business I'll speak out. I won't do it recklessly though. And yes, you are quite right. The public fueding that sometimes happens between myself and Ric (not eBank mind you) is childish. Shame on me allowing myself to get sucked into old bad behaviors with the same old people. At least I have a personal goal to work towards! 2009 - The year of loving Ric. Even if I have to grind my teeth to dust.

Sounds good, my over all worry is its hard for some to tell when your being semi sarcastic, so when you give offical reports as an auditor people won't know what is true. Good luck and hopefully DBANK can top EBANK. -----

edit: To be perfectly 100% clear, I'm not accusing DBANK of any wrong doing. According to my view of secondary market law, they are well within their rights to communicate when and where they wish. This is just a clarification on EBANK's standard/policy.
EBANK and DBANK are privately-run enterprises and no public person has equity within either of them. EBANK's position is that it is not required to publish reports, communications, etc...but it does anyway as a courtesy.
EBANK has always answered the public in the public setting (these forums) in addition to it's in-game channel "EBANK", EVE Mail, regular email, instant messenger, and it's own forums. We answer the questions where they are asked and we have a long history of doing so.
I reply to this not simply for the sake of contradicting you Shar, but this is a very important point. The Market Discussion forums are for Market Discussions...and the criticism that DBANK doesn't always participate in them has a kernel of truth.
The rule is this; private enterprises (which includes EBANK and DBANK) are not beholden to public reporting. However....private enterprises that perform services to the public are generally expected to communicate openly with the public as a courtesy.
EBANK's standard has always been open communication and engagement with questions asked in public forums, where ever that may be.

Good communication breeds confidence. Confidence increases investment. When an entity or CEO has really good communication with the public, everyone feels better.
It is always perception.
my personal example: I travel a lot on business, usually by US Airways (who suck). You turn up at a gate, there is 5 minutes to board time but no plane. Are there ever any announcements? NO! Wouldn't you just like to understand how long the delay will be. I get ****ed having to ask the attendant.
Information is king. Good communication is great.
Nearly all my bugging of CEO's or prospective CEO's is about communication. IMO the worst part of the "non-scam" secondary market.

One of the reasons i still have yet to reinvest in DBANK..Jan's report is not posted on their website, and the communication coming from MD has done little to reassure me that placing a chunk of my isk into their system is a safe investment.
It's perception.
