As the story progresses and the rewards grow more enticing, pilots will be faced with the decision of which side to fight for in the final battle. Shouldn't that be arcs? Surely there isn't just one lousy arc coming with the expansion?

The interviews are pretty cool to listen too aswell, and the art... yum. Can't wait for them all to be up. Only downside was some kind of odd arced section at the top of all the videos, as if a small part was more heavily interlaced than the rest. It looked very odd, and it's a bit distracting.

It was to be expected I guess. I don't really do PvE anymore, I have effects and sounds disabled, so the skill/attribute changes, UI improvements and wormhole PvP are the things in it that I care about. The whining by PvE vets who got their hopes up and then will get them crushed by this will be fun to read though.

Devs confirmed in the Game Development Forum. So short of T3 and wormholes there nothing in the expansion content wise for old players. What happened to old expansions with a wide mix of new content. Not just the fan-fest preview, but dev interviews in numerous online magazines, on video, replies to posts etc. They have been pumping expectations a lot for this expansion and now it appears we get a new probing system, updated graphics, ability to export stuff and T3 (with wormholes) .. everything else is primarily for players coming in. If you have no interest in T3 and has more than 6 months in-game you get close to nothing out of it. All the things not related to W-Space and the New Player Experience, are natural refinements of the game which has to happen or we would all be ASCII characters running around in an Eve-MUD. The teaser is brilliant and does its teasing so very well. I have happy tears in my eyes, if I'm honest about my level of squishiness for the art direction. Oh yes, the music... I'm not a music guru so I can't really critique it properly, but it stands out from some of the more standard tracks RealX has done, and although it has the standard Eve pads you'd expect, the percussion underneath seems different and adds quite a lot of atmosphere. I'm enjoying that. P.S. I would offer the wallpapers in higher quality JPG or PNG if time is available. The first thing I noticed aside from the pretty nebulas were compression artifacts around the expansion logotype. I'd expect twice the file size or more for a nice, 1920x1200 JPG image. And given that all the expansion (main content at least) goes around the concept of T3 fail is coming. Black ops 2nd edition? Stop pre-nerfing CCP, ffs. P.S: Also meh for one epic mission arc for noobs. Let's hope more updates are released soon to add/fix/rebalance stuff, which will for sure.

Just let's hope they keep polishing all these features and do not continue with their trend of 'add new stuff and don't revisite until 2 years'.

Are 1 type of modular cruiser for each race, graphics improvements (not quite on the scale of trinity), wormholes, and ui changes (the best feature of this expansion) really on par with something like Red Moon Rising (which glancing at the features page, introduced 23 new tech 2 ships, carriers, motherships, titans, character bloodlines, its own set of ui improvements, tractor beams, jump clones, production enhancements, and a lot of tweaking) which was considered "shy of deserving the title of "full" expansion"?

I was expecting either it to be delayed, or half the stuff would get cut. One Arc for release is disappointing, but its good that they have focused on the NPE, especially with the box coming out. For the first time im trying to set aside my personal wants for the expansion and consider the new players. OK so there is juicy stuff for existing players in this expansion, like t3, but my thoughts are with new players and i'll drink a pint of beer to CCP's success with this. (but this is only a temporary reprive, ill be demanding MOAR for WiS )
Kiotsu Adler	Posted - 2009.02.25 12:26:00 - [73] What are you talking about, most stuff for this expansion also applies to old players: ui changes, graphics & sounds, neural remapping, skill queue, new probing system (I think it's not mentioned on the feature page? is not making it!?) and specially all the stuff revollving around t3 & wormholes which are the central features of the expansion. My "only" worry is we end up with a new account on CCP track history of 'half done feature not finished': T3 is not worth it as it is right now, the industry around it could end like the boosters disaster, and the T3 ships like an other black ops or stealth bombers, "useless" ships prenerfed to hell which will cost a bazillion isks. On sleepers work done is decent but could get better I guess, a lot of work to do on that front (npcs using the same stats of players? bvarious tactics and fits? etc.). I won't whine on the epic arc stuff as it hasn't even been released, I just hope they can add new missions (and phase out gradually old stuff, ffs) with some taste of new 'AI' without having to wait for major patches each 6 months. I wouldn't have problems with that if they would revisit it in a following patch asap (apoc 1.1, 1.2, and whichever patches are needed) but CCP has a history of attention span over their features of a 2 years old kid: factional warfare, sov warfare, endless stuff on the UI front and new additions to corp/alliance/market/S&I interfaces, mining & industry stuff, umerous balancing minor stuff and general disasters like minnies split weapon systems or blackops, and I could go on and on. So yes, new stuff is wellcome but don't leave us with half-assed features, plz?
