I'd say scanning for an exit would be a good step to try...

So that they can repeat what has already been said?
Find the exit wormhole, or self-destruct!

Hell, the devblogs and other information CCP has given out regarding worm holes and W-space has ALL said that it is easy to get trapped, or have wormholes close behind you, so you might not have a route back. You were warned repeatedly ;)

Everything I have read on the subject from CCP says that there is ALWAYS an exit WH. U just have to look harder.

There should *always* be a wormhole out.

That is the exact situation that CCP said would be the only way to be truely trapped.

Please tell me you're not flying solo in wormhole space in a ship without a core probe launcher????.....

so you ignored those warnings from Concord and got yourself stuck....
You might try asking if there's any kind people in local who know where the exit is, of course you might not be able to trust them.
Otherwise, self destructing you pod is the only way out, you don't need to destroy your ship, you can leave it floating in space for some other lucky person to find.

So, when 8 ship go in to WH and the scanner ship destroyed, the other 7 ships need selfdestruct ? Oh my god.

Im thinking the Scanner ship should probably be looking for an exit while the DPS ships do their thing elsewhere.

My favorite part of the wormholes. There is always an exit. HOWEVER that exit might be into another wormhole. From there you exit into another wormhole. Currently my merry group of guys (including a carrier lol) is looking for a wormhole that doesn't lead to another wormhole pocket.
The quest continues.

I suspect that making this thread has reduced your chances of being helped out by at least 20%.

My favorite part when the CCP said, "My favorite part of the wormholes. There is always an exit and not need scanner ship."
So, now......... bull****, you need scannership or u will stuck or need self destruct.
Or yell in local, maybe anybody coming to WH in the next 2 years.

That statement made by CCP is direct sarcasm stating that there is in fact a way out without a scanner ship, and you named what the solution is. Grats! |

A few things you could do/could've done:
1. Bookmark the wormhole when you enter the other side, even if you lose your ship, there's a chance it's still there 2. Before fighting anyone in the wormhole system, find the exit first and bookmark it (it could just lead to another W-space though) 3. If are you are really afraid of getting stuck, keep doing #2 till the exit leads to known space 4. Self destruct pod, use jumpclones if you fear losing implants 5. Slim chance, but since scanning is very easy now, get an alt in a simple ship with a scanner and try to find your main that way

LOL. You are assuming "always an exit" refers to a wormhole. What happens when you ASSume?
Self-destructing is the "exit" CCP was referring to. ----------------------------------------------------
