Id like to thank you for running this site. I'm a newbie in this game and decided to be a full-time miner. Your site really helped me maximizing my profits.
My Corp is at war at the moment and i lost 3 retrievers until now. Which is about 60mil loss for me. Since i only play since 3-4 weeks thats a lot money for me. Without this site i wouldnt have been able to recover those ships.
Thanks a lot and keep up the hard work.

Not trying to say that scord isn't profitable right now, but has no one else noticed that it pops about twice as fast as even kernite? This friggin' type of ore is responsible for most of my partial pulls. There's a lot to be said about that that I shouldn't have to explain. So please, yes, ALL hulks and macroer's should try out scord. Leave the other sh*t to me and my crew. Thx!!!

You just need to mine somewhere that doesn't have people suckin on the rocks on a daily basis. Just because a roid has 'respawned' doesn't mean it's at it's full capacity. Mine a belt/system too much, and you'll end up w/ puny roids, doesn't matter what kind it is.

Have you tried using an ore scanner? A lot of miners leave less than a mining cycle behind.
EDIT: Prices will not update 3/26 to 4/5

Yup man, I don't go out w/o a scanner, and I won't hit scord unless there's at least 25k units avg in the rocks. Still feels like it pops really fast . I run 3 hulks and an orca myself w/ scanners on each of them...

You do know you don't have to do full cycles on every rock? That way you won't lose time if you're mining scord and are on top of you scanner. Or do you get into trouble with cap?

If he got a "professional" Orca and multi-Hulk operation and is going where he finds half roids, he's doing something wrong.
I have an Hulk in a system with never than more than an handful in local (3 jumps off a major trade hub none the less) and I can park it all day long, every day, finding full roids all for myself. - Auditing & consulting

The amount of ore in a roid differs alot, in my old system i would often find 40 k scordite roids, now however non of the roids ever come above 25 k. so saying that he's doing something wrong.. meh..

Well the daily downtime respawns rocks.
But I have the feeling it also puts a bit of ore into existing rocks. I think that's what Vaerah meant by doing it wrong.
I've been in a mining corp and we would deliberately go out and look for remote places where we would clear an entire system of all rocks. And wouldn't come back to the same system for at least a week. Those rocks had a lot more ore in them then in our heavily mined home system where rocks would often pop as soon as 1,5 cycle.

Edited by: Kibulay on 09/04/2010 06:45:27 nice service u are providing there but mining is a joke at this point scordite or not, i use 2 mining hulk accounts and a hauler account and work for like 4 to 5 hours each day just to pull in like 30 mil, a mission runner can do as much in 30 min
so im seriously considering dropping the mining profession, too much work not enough reward, and before some smart guy bring it up, no i don't want to join a 0.0 alliance with ridiculous recruitment policies and bossed around and told what to do and when to do it just so i can have access to the good stuff ...

Okay, I guess I'll clear up any skill questions, and I'm NOT full of pride by any means. I just like to mine cuz it's relaxing after all the RL bs I deal w/ day in and day out.
3 hulks, max mining skills, 2 t2 mlu's per, 2 mining drone rigs per, max mining and drone skills. My orca pilot is all (mining relevant) lvl 5 except for warfare link specialist 5 (which finishes in a week or so) with the mining mindlink and 1 t2 cargo rig, 2 t1 cargo rigs (those t2's are a bit hard to find). I have 1 hulk pilot w/ a +5% slot 10 mining implant (highwall?). My other 2 #10 slots on the other 2 char's are for combat. (Any1 know where i can find 6 t2 med mining drone augment rigs btw?).
Anyway, under really good conditions I can pull in about 70k m^3 of ore in around 10 minutes or so, and I measure these days by millions of cubic meters b4 I refine and sell (usually no refines before 5 mill m^3).
I think I'm doin' okay, but I dunno what other ppl get. I just hate the damned macrominers ....

Sorry, had to respond to this one as well... I know that I'm running 4 accts, but I'm also paying for 4 accts and put together a rather pricey desktop to be able to do it comfortably, but I've had days in good belts where I've pulled in 35 to 45 mil an hr in 0.5 and above. I know that's not for every1 tho....

Edited by: Kibulay on 09/04/2010 14:11:46 Well Reynaar its nice but still ridiculous when u compare to the price of ships+insurance, T2 modules and implants, so yeah you may get rich if you avoid pvp or if you fly only frigates, pvp is the only reason i play this game, not to sit all day long in a belt for so little reward
this only how i feel no body have to agree but for me mining is a complete waist of my time, on top of all the time it took in the first place to get my ass in a hulk, close to 3 months and i'm far from your level

No worries man, I've done my share of fleet battles, running 3+ pos's in 0.0 by myself, missions, pvp, etc.... hell, I've still got my 1st carrier i built myself at a pos, all that crap... I just wanted to come back out to empire for a bit (got sick of losing 250 mil setups in an afternoon cuz i guess i suck at pvp)... guess i just needed a break, and i've always been a good miner hehehe...

Edited by: Macvombat on 09/04/2010 16:04:32 Before we all go mental about the fact that mining has a relatively poor income rate compared to other things let's all just sit down and remember that the next patch (according to ccp DEV blog) will get rid of tech 0 items from missions, wich is absolutely brilliant. It will most likely let us (the miners) actually make money from our proffesion.. unless, ofc, the amount of miners rise with the amount of isk's earnt from the prof.. but lets look forward to this next patch and enjoy the fact that we may now be the main source of minerals in New Eden
After some searching i found the Dev blog Dev blog of joy

You should read the latest dev blog , "circle of life" or something like that.
You do know that they are removing the hard floor for mineral prices dont you ? Mineral prices are likely to plumet after this patch , not rise.
For the last 2 years the mineral index has been held up by the payouts on ship destructions. This will no longer occur after the patch as max payout will be 70% of current mineral construction costs.

If you're making ISK/time like that you're in a billion ISk ship. for a billion ISK and the time invested in skills you can have an orca and 3 hulks. This is clearly a signature. |

Is the chart set up using mineral values of the ore or the value of the ore itself on the market?
Is there any difference between the value of the mins or raw ore?
Also, I am wondering, does the chart account for the differences in the raw m3 of the ores? (Ie more Scordite is mined per cycle then Kernite, etc)

Ore Income assumes you have perfect refine and sell the minerals not the ore. With a few exceptions due to a mission, raw ore is typically sold cheaper than minerals.
Income rate accounts for volume, i.e. ISK/m3. Remember, lasers pull out same m3 independent of ore.
