where can i get it from.. im on 84244 and that's incompatible
but it doesn't prompt me to upgrade
and theres no patch on the manual patch section of the site
what gives CCP, this same thing happened on m10. i had to get it from a 3rd party place
fix your crap. i can't even patch the game.

todays patch is a server side patch. Not a client patch.
EDIT..
Sorry, was wrong it IS a client patch. but just a basic one.. No real major bug fixes.

Server is still on DT, and they are feeding the hampsters.. don't know when they are going to give us the upgraded hampster connection, but at least wait until DT is complete until screaming bloody murder..

Thats an easy one, every "new" version has its own version number. to keep them all seperated.. They install the newer version onto the server, then check if everything is ok, edit the config file, re-write the server version number and they have a new server-side patch.. but to make sure they install the right one first they have to check it.. I used to apply this methode on the programs i managed as well..
But who knows, maybe we get a client hot-fix as well.. let them do the DT thing and we will see what happens when it goes back up again..

why doesn't my client come up with the prompt to get the new patch like it did arount EE/QR??
and the latest version in the manual section is still 844244.
this thread would still have happened apparently :)
ED: so if its apparently up, can i get a link to it from somewhere seeing as apparently CCP doesn't want me to have it?

nah he just needs to close his client and reopen it, and it will go on with the auto-patch as always... and its still 7 minutes before up-time plenty of time for them to get the patch on the manual patch page... so stop whining plz..

The patch should be 3.7MB in size.

Only problem with that plan of yours is the smell of epic fail off it, there is NO option to select version 84244
PS: mine doesnt autopatch either (obviously) so the OP has a fugging point

Yeah, mine also, apparently its already at current patched state, but its says incompatable build..
EDIT: and yes i download the 3.8 mb patch from eve site, but even before i did that it was at the current version, So its as if it auto patched the build number, but not the game itself...

The autopatcher is not launching when starting EVE.
Thats fine, i follow Navigator's instructions and link, where it indeed says : "Current Client Version: 6.10.84244"
However, the dropdown menu lists 84063 as latest, which it obviously isnt.

I have the same problem - on both my macbook and my main windows box.
Neither will autopatch, and neither mac now windows manual patch page give me the option to select version 84244... They both say the 'current' version is 84244 and only offer to show me the patch notes.

Sorry, but that's a blatant lie, as the patch has actually been there since yesterday you see :) You were just expecting it to be on the row that said 84609, which it obviously shouldn't be, as the column was named "Update patch from" and you click on the row that is your existing current version!

it'd seem to me itd be a logical thing to do very quickly, especially as third party sites (like that server status one) can somehow get to it first??

The Patcher stops responding as soon as i get to Starting Download job, then it crashes.
the problem might be that i have eve installed in a non standard folder though.
Anyone else have that problem ?

it'd seem to me itd be a logical thing to do very quickly, especially as third party sites (like that server status one) can somehow get to it first??
EVEs official manual download works just fine aswell, you chose your CURRENT version (logical right, the one you are updating FROM, ie the BLUE one (latest) for MOST peoople) and then click "FIND PATCH" and it will offer you the patch for your chosen version to the current latest version.

My autopatcher is also borked. I would imagine this is far from being an isolated problem. As of the time of writing the "official" CCP manual patch page for Windows only wants to give me 84063 to 84244 as the newest update.
I know where to find the info to get the patch from 3rd party sites but I would imagine there are plenty of people out there who do not.

if you select 84244 (your current version) and click "find patch" it gives you the download to 84609.

Yes, we are well aware of how is SHOULD work. When the people affected with this problem visit the patch page the blue number in the dropdown list is: 84063 (latest).
I wonder if the two problems are interconnected? The autopatcher never fires up because it thinks we already have the latest version. Is there perhaps one server with stale data behind the load balancer and it's this one that all the people with the problem are querying?

Because you are downloading a test patch from the sisi collom on the right.
The TQ patches are on the left. With this being the latest patch.
This worked, but I think the point most people are trying to make is we should have to sift through all the usual forum bull**** to play the game we've paid for.

/me guesses caching issues on the web server. The client might even retrieve a web-page from the same eveonline server before checking patch availability which might be cached as well, hence no autopatch popup.
Keep in mind I'm purely speculating here. At work so I don't have the time to check it out properly

Ok, I can confirm it's a cache/stale data problem. I'm leaning to stale data on one server still as no matter how many times I request the page I still get the incorrect, old data.
For those of you who have the issue you can prove it for yourselves, if you visit the patch page direct you see 84244 as the newest version.
Now visit Google and translate the page from dutch to english (click the link to visit the patch page via Google's translator)

I noticed last week on the major patch release that the autopatcher doesn't work well when running the Eve client through Steam. I've since bypassed Steam (created a desktop shortcut directly to "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\eve online\eve.exe") and the autopatcher has worked fine for me ever since.
This should help some of you who installed the game through Steam originally.

the 900kb file is a patcher that downloads the 3.6mb patch data and installs it for you.
weird system yes, i know.

I have the exact same problem...
Me too... my auto patcher used to work perfectly fine till the Apoc patch... so it's obviosuly trying to do something my puteh is blocking. My missus has exactly the same problem on her PC. The auto patcher will detect the incompatiblility, and prompt to download the patch. It downloads the installer, but when it tries to run the patcher instantly errors with an installer error (and gives a code, which I have not noted but I will get it when my missus tries the patch!).
I then have to downlaod hte patch manually... I only hope there will always be an option to do the manual downlaod but it is very puzzling as to why we both get this error!
