I notice that the Polaris Inspector frigates have like 99.9% resistance to everything. They are still basically frigates as far as I can tell. I have a question. Would it be possible to kill a Inspector frigate? Maybe if you used a battleship. Or maurader.
And how long would it take? And would I get banned if I tried it out when I spot one?

They have 1 second recharge time on shields. In theory, possible. In practice, no. New Eden Research & Development Syndicate is recruiting! |

You can't target them I belive. They regen nearly instantly. ...A bs wont hit it with its big guns... It could possibly be done by a horde of smartbombing bs if I recall some old discussion on the same subject.

Well you can't target them so you most likely need to use an AoE weapon such as a smartbomb, bomb or DDD. However the attribute most probably has truncated the value and the 9s go on for ever therefore any damage done is negligible

Maybe if you hade a full BS fleet or fired of 4 or 5 doomsdays you might chip the paint.

What is it about them that makes them untargetable? Is there some module or ship attribute that achieves this?

It's a GM only ship.

and if a GM/dev shows up in a polaris frig it means he is investigating/fixing something having to do with a petition most likely and attacking them will usually get you into trouble.

Podding a DEV will get you mad props, you'll be showered in gifts, loose women and mirre. You'll also get mad devs but as I see it the rewards outweigh the downsides.

So the untargetable thing is character based as opposed to ship based? I didn't know if it has a sig radius of 0, super leet sensors or something.

I think it's just simply an attribute specific to the ship.

If you can find a gm/dev, AND get them to stay there long enough for you to get a fleet together to kill it.. they would probably get more devs and a jovian fleet would wtfbbq you back..
can we do this in jita?

GM = God, if you manage to pod God you'll probably get mad loot and powers (just be sure to eat his/her heart, thats how you absorb their power)

Unfortunatly in order to use gods magic weapons you need to polaris skill at level 1 and to train the polaris skill you need the polaris skill at level 5. Its so evil ---------------------------

I read somewhere that one polaris frigate was in fact killed with the consent of the pilot.
I can't find the source for this, so its got to be downgraded to unconfirmed rumour at best.

Assuming it is only 99.9% resistance, and not 99.999999999999999 ad infinitum
it would take 2,184 perfectly simultaneous doomsdays of any flavor to pop a polaris legatus frigate

And, I don't think it's possible to set off that many DDs...wouldn't be able to fit all those Titans on grid as far as I know. And if you could, WHY? Killing spree when the Titans have to recharge ><

350 Titans all firing and all have to hit at exactly the same time...assuming he's not fitting a DC II or something because 60% resists on the 1.2million HP of structure would take a few more titans ;). The answer "All of them" is incorrect as all of them wouldn't dent this thing. Besides if you tried the pilot would do something like '/destroy titan all' and that would be the end of of 350 titans...
