Edited by: Hirana Yoshida on 19/03/2009 13:22:22 If true then you need to change the thread title to: "Faction Warfare Mission-runner" rejoice.
I used singular on purpose as there is at most one doing it at any given time .. so utterly useless. People will do one to see what its about and then no more when they realise it it 10-15 jumps and beacon is on overview when activated.
I don't even want to think about how much grief you must got through to get enough LP for a +6 implant.
FW missions have one positive thing going for them though, they can be used to pop a bait-beacon in a specific system (decline missions and go to other agent to get 'right' system).

I used singular on purpose...
There's some people who had the FW missions metagame routine down to the max, so if there would be some unique reward attached I bet the numbers will rise again.
Here's the ultimate FW mission metagame/almost-exploit guide:
- add an alt to the militia of your choice - preview a mission, but do not accept it yet - memorize the system the mission will be in - fly your main character to that system. For maximum metagaming, do not have him in any militia. NPC corps are great as they cannot be wardecced. - wait until opposing militia and pirate members have left the system - accept the mission with the alt - warp the main to the now quite visible beacon - complete mission as fast as possible before any real opposition returns - have alt complete the mission with the agent
I guess that is why missions never became part of capturing a system, it's just too exploitable. Even if the opposing militia knew your alt and main, they cannot attack the main even within a FW complex without getting a GCC, losing sec rating and eventually turning pirate.

hmmm, in my experience the beacon only appears when the person who accepted the mission warps to it.
so dunno what you're on about? perhaps i'm mistaken?

No, you're right, thats why the exploit mentioned by Pytria wouldn't work .. but even if, thats not an exploit but lots of work, and since the missions are always in lowsec, picking a neutral character for doing the mission won't stop a pirate from killing you. Those FW missions are damn hard, no doubt, but at least there will be a nice reward soon ![Very Happy](/images/icon_biggrin.gif) ![Very Happy](/images/icon_biggrin.gif)
