Yeah, how exactly does that work out?
The cheapest I can find is like 1000 DKK more than that!
It depends on the flight, but I also think it may be calculated as a per person cost for two people sharing a hotel room. If I selected flying out the 30th or the first, selected two people and 3 nights the cost didn't get to 2860 DKK but it did go down to about 3000 DKK per person, or around 6000 DKK for two.

Can someone explain the Icelandair packages? There are columns for "DOUBLE" and "SINGLE"....yet, the double is cheaper? What does the single/double specify? Can't be room....a double room should be more expensive? And it can't be beds, again double = more? Am I missing something? |

got a few questions
im ok for paying for the flights, even though i have to go to london (s***hole) **how much would the fanfest pass's will be be **besides being a nerd fest which ive been to few of is there any other night clubs around the event, where the poplulation of women will be more that 1%? (bringing a few mates that dont play the game)
i know its a daft question but i dont wanna talk about ratting raven setups all night when im there :P

The 'double' price is the price per person if you book for two and share the hotel room.

The pass was 65 or 75 USD last year. Of course the price might change compared to last years. The event is not in the city centre, but roughly 2 km from it (about 20 mins walking). The city itself has a lot of bars/pubs/clubs. The nightlife really kicks off after midnight/1 am.

I sadly will not be at Fanfest this year, as iceland tickets are expensive, and I am the only one I know of in real life that enjoys EVE and I would be going alone. It's not that I hate being alone, but it's a real party killer when you're the only person you know at the afterparty and you don't drown your sorrows in beer like a sensible human.

Sadly not, you have to be 18 or older to enter the Fanfest area.
why
This is due to Icelandic law as alcohol is served at the Fanfest venue.

Yeh, you can't even get a ferry directly to the port without going to Norway first! Are there not any flights going from Glasgow? There's like 5 or 6 of us in southwest UK gonna hopefully coming.
I can't wait to get back to my 3rd fave country in the world. 3 years is too long to wait :)

Depends, if you want something close to the Fanfest there's the Nordica and Grand hotel, or for a cheaper price the Park Inn and even a bit cheaper the Cabin (those rooms are really small though). If you want to go more towards the center there's Radisson SAS, probably the most expensive one in Reykjavik, but also Plaza and Baron which are a bit cheaper. Or you can check for hostels as there are quite a few of those around. You can also do some research on Google, maybe search "Hostels Reykjavik" and "Hotels Reykjavik". My suggestion would be to find a few different places that you like and come back and ask if anyone has stayed there and what they thought. A lot of websites also let people who stayed there write their own review which could be helpful.

Flight tickets booked gonna be my first so I hope it's worth it!
Just like to point out that on the booking website it states that you are able to pay by Maestro/Solo... this is not possible. I attempted to pay by Maestro but you can't. Upon calling my bank they only accept Visa/Mastercard or Diners Club apparently. This will probably only affect UK travellers but I felt it may be a good idea to point this out.
See you all there

Why do the flight packages/accomodation get released *before* the tickets to fanfest?
I'd rather not get flights from Australia/time off work to go all the way to Iceland without knowing if I actually have a ticket yet. ---

I think last years FanFest passes were about the ú40 mark, or thereabouts.
The pass gets you into the whole FF event, you don't need a specific pass for a specific day.
